West Coast Rap Radio Questions and Answers

Open Question: Can some one list me all hiphop/rap songs they can remember that was played often on the radio in 2005-06?

West coast, L.A. station I am looking for a few songs One is something like really relaxing, it was not played often on that radio, but the beat was really relaxing, The singer was too makes you kind of sleepy It starts off with "some 2 words- echoing over and over like 3 times, then the real song starts" There is this one part of the song where the guy sings and stop aburptly, with a drum beat on each of his word  more

Resolved Question: What ever happened to our generation's music now?

Musicwise: Songs like Nas-I know i can , turned into Soulja Boy - Throw some D's on my report card I remember the song I know I can by Nas motivated me alot to become far, but now Soulja Boy came out of nowhere with THROW SOME D"s on my report card , like " Hey it's cool to have D's now" What ever happened to West Coast music being played on the radio? I only hear the rapper Game once in a while, and "the game's pain" is pretty much accurate , of what happened to Hip Hop music nowadays, What happened in Hip Hop Radio Stations playing Different artists in each hour like B.I.G, to Tupac, To Busta Rhymes, to Craig Mack, to Total, to lil kim , to Junior Mafia, to Jay-Z, to Jadakiss, (in general), i mean Different rappers , each hour, and like the number #1 hit every two hours, Now Hip Hop Radio Stations , are playing lil wayne like every half hour, and in my opinion, his rap skills are bullshit same with soulja boy, he's bullshit. Radio stations , forgot about Mos Def, Papoose, Lupe Fiasco, Common,Jadakiss, Sheek Louch,(i love that song Good Love), and more good rappers , Beyonce is overrated, Stanky Leg is the worst song ever, rather than ay bay bay, now every gangsta , wants to do the stanky leg, (not cool , and embarassing) now every rap song that is on the radio is about sex, drinking, money, and bitches, and stupid dances, and 20 inch rims and what happened to R&B, (Ne-yo and Crissette Michelle is great) but again Beyonce and Rihanna is overrated when R&B music came from real soul voices, to **** that are used by a dumb digital computer program, like T-pain , or Flo Rida? Remember, every R&B song was truly about how much you're going to love, break up, or truly MAKE LOVE , to the person? they have good music groups/artists like like SWV. /en vogue, Boyz 2 men, New edition, 702, Blackstreet, babyface, brian mcknight, chante moore, keith washington, maxwell, monica, brandy, and others that really have the meaning of R&B music, that gave people wisdom of relationships and we do but underrated like , Jill scott, Raheem Davaughn, Johnta Austin, Angie Stone, Faith Evans even I hear some new Babyface the other day , and i hear no radio playing it WHAT HAPPENED TO GOOD MUSIC NOW?  more

Resolved Question: Hey rap and hip hop, grettings from rock and pop, i have some [stupid] questions for you guys.?

Ok first of all i know hardly anything about rap, basically i just know the stuff on the modern radio isn't that good and that Lil Wayne sucks. I hated rap for most of my life because i judged it from what i heard on the radio and what kids play at school which is mostly Gucci Mane or Soulja boy and that crap. But i heard some rap that i kind of liked So my first question is how did the east coast vs. west coast thing start? I know that's probably a dumb question but im just wondering and then also do most rap fans think the feud is stupid or do they take sides and get into arguments over it? And is the feud still going on or is it mostly over? And then my other question what are some good (preferably old skool) rappers that i should give a listen to because i have been trying to get into some new music genres.  more

Resolved Question: Who is your favorite rappers ever?

Give me some reason behind your choices too. Please dont criticize anybody's comment. Heres my top 5... 1. Eminem- Amazing lyrics. Best selling rapper ever. The way he flows with his songs, whether it is a silly song or one of his serious songs. 2. Tupac- Changed rap for ever. Maybe best lyricist ever, Alive or deceased. Globalized rap and still is a cultural icon. 3. Biggie- For the short period of time he was popular he made numerous of hits that are still banging in clubs and on the radio. His death and the way he got out of the ghetto will always be remembered. 4. Dr.Dre- Started gangsta rap with N.W.A. The chronic and 2001 are one of the two greatest hip-hop albums ever. 5. Tough one for me, but i have to go wit Ludacris- I will get criticized for this, but his records sold and his awards won probally should say it all.His flow and delivery is great and his punchlines are always on time. Honarable Mentions Too short- listen to to Life is... Too short and you will know what i mean. Pioneered West coast hip-hop and will always be remembered. Jay-z- One of the most popular rappers ever is also one of the best. The blueprint was a great album. He owns any east coast rapper behind biggie. Snoop Dogg- What else can i say about izzle. One of the best ever. Rakim- One of the greatest lyricist ever. Nas- Probally the greatest lyricist ever but never really ever had huuuge mainstream success. Ice Cube- It was a good day and Check yo self are hip-hop classics. T.I- Didnt like newer songs like live your life and dead and gone, but the king of the south put out great albums back in the early 2000's. Shout out Dmx Way down the list and should never be in the talk for best rappers. they in fact arent that good. Weezy baby- Delivery is one of the worst ever. Cries when he raps. Completely overrated. Plies- all the man can do is rap about sex. Flo-rida- Name isnt even that catchy and is more of pop artist than rap. T-pain-Autotune is really bad. Rick ross " The Boss"- Would feel embarassed coming from same city as this former correctional officer. Worst ever Soulja Boy- Great story about how he made crank that out of his basement, but cmon. he is really bad MC Hammer- Cant touch this. Obviously he couldnt touch any money after he went backrupt. who else but Vanilla Ice......  more

Resolved Question: can someone give a honest opinion of why hiphop of today on the radio isnt balanced?

what im saying is im not here to bash the new generation of music ,but more about why has the selection of todays hiphop on the radio is mainly based off just one category or the music with everyone doing the t-pain/ legendary roger zapp voice. or similar beats.there was a time where you could turn on the radio you would hear east coast, south, and west coast and i loved them all . but todays category is mainly based off of one category . some may say yeah but you have the game and kanye west these are actually guys who grew up in the 90s era of hiphop . and even they have to resorted in either featuring lil wayne the new generation idle ,or soundling like tpain as well as lil wayne.it use to be a time where people all had style ,swagger ,dance ,and poetry. and even in the 90s not everyone was the most lyricist but you had different flavors and i loved them all . so what im saying for any of the underground fanatics just stuck on lyrics this is not to focus on one type of scene of hiphop but what were missing is a balance when you had everything playing on the radio . this is what urks me the most of today music . not the fact that it comes from the south cause i grew up listening to a lot of south artist and not all of them were the best lyrical and some were. but on the radio you had a mixture of them as well as different flavors of west coast music and east coast . so really this is about unity on the radio from all views of aspects of hiphop of life . im not here to say none of the guys on the radio today cant rap ,or are talentless. but what if everyone in the 90s sounded like ice cube on the radio even though hes a legend you would get tired of it . or if everyone sounded 2 live crew on the radio you would get tired of it <--also a legendary group,or if everyone on the radio sounded like puff daddy you would get tired of it <--wont consider him a legend but he was a good producer at one time . but what im getting at is if anyone sounded like any of these guys all the time on the radio it would be boring . maybe the younger generation doesnt really understand cause this is all they know . and im not saying all some of the younger head know their stuff. but can someone explain why the radio has resorted to this . the radio has the power to change this trend ok for the ones making it difficult or just playing dumb to a honest question of course you can find radio stations in local areas or college radio stations,or sir or xm that play underground category . but im talking mainstream radio that you can find most of the pop artist of today on the radio state to state.but thx for the ones who gave me a simple answer and knew what exactly i was getting at without saying they play atmosphere in my town.  more

Resolved Question: When you think about it, there's really no more rap?

There is this all rap radio station down here in my city. They usually play majority of today's hip hop and it does get kind of old sometimes (though I sometimes listen to the old school r&b station). But I have noticed that sometime around this decade, that we really don't have any rap music left. They call it rap music but it's not rap. Because if you hear a rap song from today, they all sound the same. It's all computerized, and there's more singing than rapping. They even got rappers trying to sing when they know they can't (even these so called "pimp" and "gangsta" rappers) and most of the beats and songs sound kind of girly. Now, the east coast rap of today still sounds good (Nas, Lupe Fiasco, etc.) sounds great. That's real hip hop. Rappers like Gangstarr (they're old school, but still sound good), Mos Def, Common, that's real hip hop. I even like the recent releases from J.Dilla and Madlib (their beats sound better than the ones I hear on the radio). But I'm targeting mainly the West Coast era of today, music wise. Everybody likes Young Jeezy, Young Joc and Lil' Wayne, but honestly, I don't think they're all that good. I think they're kind of lame and weak. Does anyone agree with me?  more

Resolved Question: 80's vs 90's vs 00's rap?

Which is better? It all depends what you grew up with. I bet people who grew up in the 60's say "What is this crap Run DMC, put on some elvis" or something like that. Well that's how it is today I think. While Run DMC is classic, rappers can't rap today like they did in the 80's because it's changed for better or worse. I personally like today's rap better than the 80's but to me it seems like the 90's and 00's are almost the same. At least the rap I listen to. Not the crap you hear on the radio like soulja boy or Lil Wayne. 80's rap was simpler with rhyme the last word of the sentence with last word of the next sentence. But it was good because rap was just beginning and it helped influence future rappers. 90's is where their rhymes patterns got more complex, production stepped up, and more relevant issues are talked about. 00's doesn't seem much different, it just has a broader audience, (southern, east coast, west coast, midwest). I think people form the 80's and 90's hate today's rap because of what they hear in the radio but if they were to really search they can find great music today from more social conscious rappers like Talib kweli, mos def, immortal technique, to great lyricist like Royce 5'9, eminem, The great thing about today is that there is a type of rap for everybody. So what's your opinion?  more

Resolved Question: How come radio stations never play west-coast gangsta rap anymore?

Resolved Question: L.A.X.-Preview & Review...Are you gonna buy it?

had tp make a form of a q...but... from this sample review it sounds pretty nice...and track 9 sounds ILL!!!! Yo Radio had a chance to go to Universal Records London office to hear The Game’s highly anticipated third studio album L.A.X.. I know it's just one persons opinion, and I know we haven't heard it yet, but after reading this I really think this album is gonna be crazy! Here is the review... Below are my notes on each track. Please note this is not the final track list order. 1. L.A.X. Produced by JR Rotem Big intro, he spits some BARS on this track talks about being gangster, very west coast bouncy production! 2. State Of Emergency feat. Ice Cube Produced by JR Rotem Crazy beat again, very west coast, another big tune, the only thing I could have asked more for was a verse from Ice Cube - he was only on the chorus ‘California ain‘t a state it‘s an army‘(they didn’t play the whole track so he might have a verse at the end hopefully). Game has stepped his lyrics up even more so far on this album. 3. Dope Boys Produced by 15 or Nothin’ I’m not gonna lie when I first heard this track I wasn’t impressed, but I think I must have gone mad cos this track is a BANGER! Most people would have heard this track already it’s got a very rocky feel with Travis Barker on the drums. 4. House Of Pain Produced by DJ Toomp This was one of the standouts for me, guitar rocky beat again. Game has definitely stepped up lyrically on this album. Another bouncy track with a load of quotables. Dj Toomp done his job with the beat! 5. Heaven Produced by Jelly Roll Another standout this track is serious, Game does some singing on the chorus. This could be a single for me a more introspective track than what’s been heard so far. 6. My Life feat. Lil Wayne Produced by Cool & Dre This is the next single, another introspective track. Talks about The Game’s struggles in his life. Very serious. Lil Wayne’s singing on the hook ‘Dear lord you took so many of my people but why havn’t you taken my life’. Beats serious as well very dark piano beat 7. Bullet Proof Diaries feat. Raekwon Produced by Jell Roll Very funky westcoast beat. Another standout. Raekwon does his thing on this. The chorus reminds me of the Ruff Ryders ’World War 3’ track - ‘Where you from, New York’…………BIG TUNE 8. Cali Sunshine Produce by Nottz This track is ok, I think I might have to hear it again. The Game`s talking about 50 getting robbed, Suge Knight getting punched up. For me Nottz is a serious producer but I wasn’t really feeling this track it might be a grower though. 9. Never Say Goodbye Produced EP Another highlight. At the start Biggie’s talking about his shock of hearing Eazy E death. Then it cut’s to the radio talking about the death of Biggie and Tupac. First verse The Game raps with Tupac’s flow and second verse he spits like Biggie, he SMASHES it! They faded out the track after the second chorus so I’m not sure if he does another verse. 10. Ye Heard feat. Ludacris Produced by Nottz This track is SERIOUS! The beat is stupid, probably the best beat on the album for me. Very Funky bouncy beat. The Game does his thing lyrically, he talks about being looked over and being too gangster to win a grammy but Ludacris SMASHES IT, one of the verses of the year for me, too many quotable ‘So many flags I thought I was in Russia…….’ 11. Gentlemans’ Affair feat. Ne-Yo Produced by JR Rotem To be honest I thought this was the weakest track for me, it’s got a mellowy summery vibe. It’ll probably do well on radio but I wasn’t really feeling it compared to the tracks I heard before. 12. Angel feat Common Produced by Kanye West When I saw the line-up for this I thought this track would be SERIOUS but at first it didn’t grab me, the beat didn’t sound like a Kanye West beat at all, it followed the west coast bouncy production of the rest of the tracks. Common and The Game done their thing lyrically and I think it was john Legend on the chorus. Everyone else in the room was feeling this track though to be fair, it’ll probably grow on me(still a big tune though I was just expecting a classic) 13. Camera Phone feat. Ne-Yo Produced by Cool & Dre This sounds like it could definitely be a single, I could imagine this being huge, double time beat. 14. Money Produced by Cool & Dre This one is definitely for the streets, similar vibe to Rick Ross ‘Push It’, talks about money. This will be BIG another highlight! I could imagine rappers freestyling over this beat on mixtapes for years! 15. Breaking Rules feat. Busta Rhymes Produced by Scott Storch Minimalist beat, everyone in the room was feeling this track. Got a similar vibe to ‘Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See’. Good track 16. Letter To The King feat. Nas Produced by Hi-Tek One of my favourite tracks. The track is an ode to Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement. Very introspective, they both talk about when they were younger overlooking the struggle but now realising the power. The beat is crazy, Hi Tek does his job. Nas and The Game make great tracks together, they both have featured on each others current and previous albums and each track for me has been a standout! Pain - they didn’t play Pain because everyone’s heard it all ready Big Dreams - The people at Universal said this maybe a bonus track their not sure at the moment collabs w/ Luda and Nas should be nice August 26th...i'm pretty sure and it's not mine..the paragraph at the very beginning states who it is....i haven't heard anything yet besides games pain  more

Resolved Question: Where did rap music start, east coast or west coast ?

Someone on here said, " It started on the west " If your one of those people, that believe hip-hop started on the west. All I want is some proof. Name the artist, what year he came out, and location. Rap started on the EAST, my proof. The Sugarhill Gang This pioneering group inaugurated the history of recorded hip-hop with their single "Rapper's Delight", a multi-platinum seller and radio hit in 1979. The group was created to profit on a supposed novelty item. New Jersey-based producer and indie label owner Sylvia Robinson had become aware of the massive hip-hop block parties occurring around the New York City area during the late '70s  more

Resolved Question: PLZ Help! Late 90's rap song.?

I have been looking for this song for years but I can't find it!! It's a late 90's maybe early 2000's rap song I don't know any of the lyrics except that the opening verse is "it's going down like this......" and after that I think he says "smoke somethin' drink somethin'......" the chorus is done by some other rapper with a kinda George clinton sound to him. I live out here on the west coast so maybe it was a regional group and I've only heard it twice on the radio, so it's been hard to find. I also saw part of the music video for it once on a commercial for a compilation cd from Music Space or Time music or something ( and yes I've check their websites). The video featured a flying lowrider, back to the future style. Oh and let me make this very clear it is NOT "It's going down" by the Executioners Let me say that again IT IS NOT "It's going down" by the Executioners I cannot say that enough everytime I ask someone they always give me that answer. Plz help. Stuck in my head! Oh thank you TruBlu75! Yes I will listen to better music now that YOU have told me to! Thank heaven you said that, otherwise I would have wasted my life listening to music I like what a woeful life indeed! Prick.... Please only serious answers.  more

Resolved Question: Recap of 2007 In Hip Hop?

Nas and his highly-discussed Hip-hop is Dead, Cam'ron and his infamous "CURRRTIS!" line, Ghostface shedding tears-- and discussing it, the death of Stack Bundles, 50 Cent losing to Kanye, and everything in between. 1. January 16th - Nas Goes Gold with Hip Hop is Dead -- After Only 3 Weeks. Sure, Soulja Boy is finally gold after two whole months of massive BET/radio payola scandals and what have you, but despite the haters wishing HHID into oblivion, Nasir bagged 500,000 + off of one single which barely made any noise outside of the tri-state area. And then moved on to sell almost 800,000 copies in total. Now that's what you call a following. And not only that, but an entire year later, the SOHH Forums are still plagued with thread titles reading "HHID>>>>>>>God's Son," "Vote: Worst track on HHID," "How many units did Nas sell for HHID?" and so on and so forth. What's another way to say "get over it?" There isn't. 2. January 23rd - Tru Life Renames Lil Wayne "Weezy Goldberg" - Not only was Bush's effort to shut down freedom of speech via blogging discussed this go-round, but L.E.S rapper Tru Life gave Lil Whoopi Weezy another moniker that has been glued to him ever since. 3. February 2nd - Cam'ron and 50 Cent Battle it out Over the Phone. The following quote has been written into the book of Hip-Hop Classic history: "Curtis! Curtis! How much did the Mobb sell Curtis!" Nuff said. 4. April 6th - DMX Discredits West Coast Rap. But don't mind X, he was just a little high. We all know the West Coast deserves all the props they get; I still listen to The Chronic to this day. West Coast rap for right now? Not so sure. But DMX did give big ups to The Game, who is struggling to hold on to a career that came and went faster than getting brains from Superhead; no lie, he's dead ass driving a Honda Accord right about now... guess he didn't get far? 5. April 27th - FOUND! The Unfortunate Fall of Damon Dash. The streets were watching for Dame... and he refused to come out from hiding until the New York Post went digging around for him. They tried to make Dame look quite... broke, without making him look... broke. If you care, read on to understand. Then Dame reappeared with Bossip.com, where he got some sh*t off his chest that he knows he'd never say to Hov face-to-face {PEEP HERE}. But that's industry n*ggas for you, word. 6. May 9th - Ghostface Gets Touchy, Speaks Candidly About Crying... and he calls himself a "lonely old man." Lmao. SMH. I'll just stay quiet on this one. 7. May 18th - Cam Stands by his Pool in his Boxers, Tells 50 Cent it's Gonna be a "Hot Summer." Oh yes, it was a hot summer in New York City... without Cam present, of course. 8. June 12th- Freekey Zekey Releases Statement Pertaining to the Death of Stack Bundles. R.I.P to Far Rock's Stack, who passed away by the hands of a murderer Monday, June 11th. It's crazy how fast time goes. It's already been nearly 7 months. 9. July 11th - Remy Ma Commits "Blasphemy" with Flaming Mixtape Cover. And her new gimmick was "The BX Savior Shesus Khryst." People discussed this cover art over lunch a few times that week. Word was flying that Kaos didn't want to do it. But he did. **I Will Still Hit That** 10. July 12th - Hot 97's Miss Jones Says she's Releasing a Tell-All Book... that nobody bought BAAA-HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! This was never a hot topic (*snicker*) but I just wanted to point out that somewhere between Superhead and Nas' baby moms, we forgot to care. So consider this a "bonus entry" -- that probably got more reads than her book. What was the name of it again? All I remember is that she released to the internet a very graphic passage containing her sexcapades with Busta Rhymes. It was quite nauseating, to say the least. But anything grueling is more enjoyable than looking at her muppet face and square-box body shape. BRRRRRRRRRRRR *shiver*. Now watch word get back to her and then she announce on Hot 97 that her book sold a million copies. 11. July 16th - Remy Ma Takes a Trip to Riker's Island for Shooting Friend. Right after that damn mixtape cover! Damn, Rem! 12. July 20th - 50 Says Jay-Z Won't Allow Kanye to Drop the Same Day as Him... and in the end, he played himself, hard body. By 300K, to be exact {PEEP HERE}. I would love to devote an entire blog on how pathetic Curtis is, but I'll move on to the next topic. I'll get back to that later. 13. August 16th - Racist Bill O'Reilly Attacks Nas. But it's all good. O'Reilly just wanted a little attention... and got it. pu*sy Azz Wigger! 14. September 20th - Papoose Dropped From Jive. Just like many of us already knew from the look of things. Kay Slay went on and on about how happy and relieved they were. I believe it. But ... okay. We get it. 15. September 21st - Saigon and Prodigy "Bang it Out" at SOB's... and Saigon Runs. Lmao... a certain blogger here on SOHH, who doesn't know jack spit about hip-hop, was calling him Havoc. SMH. What an idiot. 16. October 16th - Nas Causes Mass Hysteria with Talks of New Album, N*gga. After this point, it went from N*gga to N*gger {PEEP HERE}. Nas caused so much commotion, the white news folks called on Allhiphop and SOHH to "discuss" the matter. Before you knew it, the so-called "leaders" of our time --or whatever they call themselves-- even had something to say. 17. October 22nd - Prodigy Talks Jail Time. I already did what I had to do in this blog {PEEP HERE}, so I'll say no more. 18. - November 20th - Saigon "Quits" Rap. After cursing out a SOHH contributor on air -- drunk, he breaks down at the sight of his name being thrown all over the net, tosses up a pissy Myspace blog, and then vanishes. Only to turn around and make a "come back" last week. (If that were only true about him quitting ) 19. December 4th - Lil Kim Justifies Remy Ma "Beef." This is the story of the little bit of buzz that Kim created... that has already since fizzled out. Go figure. I'm tired of her so I'll just move on now. 20. December 19th - Remy Claps Back at Lil Kim. Damn, does Remy dog Kim's plastic surgery! http://blogs.sohh.com/nyc/archives/2007/12/sohh_nyc_hot_topics_of_07.html http://blogs.sohh.com/nyc/remyMa.jpg Remy Ma Mixtape Cover.  more

Resolved Question: Do you agree that mainstream radio and record execs. are killing hip hop ?

Listening and reading about hip hop (what you live) and rap (what you do) is enough to make your head spin now days. By personal opinion I really don't see radio stations like 103 or 107 in atlanta doin hip hop justice. There is'nt a mixture of east coast, west coast, and much needed underground to give all artist a fair shake like back in the day. I understand you want to support your own but the kids are lost when you don't have different flavors on the air.  more

Highlight Songs: Notorious B.I.G. - Who Shot Ya? 2pac - Hit Em Up Verdict: Even though there's really no clear winner it really depends on what side you were on east or west but most people would say 2pac because he delivered the greatest diss song ever Hit Em Up Still beefin or not: No unfortunately they had to go like tha true soldiers they were 2.Nas vs Jay-Z Highlight Songs: Nas - Ether Jay-Z - Takeover Nas - H to the Omo (Stillmatic) Jay-Z - Super Ugly Nas - Last Real Nigga Alive Verdict: Nas won this one hands down, have you ever heard ether, that song single handly won this fight. Not only did Nas revive his career because of the beef but he dropped a classic because of tha beef. Hot 97 had a poll and 58% said that Nas won and 42% said that Jay-Z won. Still Beefin: In The I Declare War Concert he really declared peace and him and Nas performed some songs together Jay-Z even signed Nas to Def Jam 3.Ja Rule vs 50 Cent Highlight Songs: 50 Cent - Backdown Ja Rule - Clap Back Ja Rule - The Crown 50 Cent - Wanksta Verdict: Though 50 Cent ain't won no other beefs of his this beef he won no doubt not only did he end Ja Rule's and Murder Inc.'s career but this made him even more famous and rose his street cred up Still Beefin: Yes. Things have cooled down even though 50 still is dissing Ja Rule and Ja has been taking some subliminals at 50. 4.Benzino vs Eminem Highlight Songs: Benzino - Pull Ya Skirt Up Eminem - Nail In The Coffin Eminem - Like Toy Soldiers Benzino - Look Into My Eyes Verdict: Though Benzino was a bit right bout Eminem being racist and this did hurt Eminem, Eminem won no doubt bout it. Benzino got kicked out of the Source and XXL became the best selling hip hop magazine, and at the end people say Benzino just started the beef as a publicity stunt. Benzino had no bussiness started with an mc when he just flat out sucked. Still Beefin: Yes but since Benzino has been kicked out of the source the beef has cooled down and no sides have taken a shot at each other lately. 5.LL Cool J vs Canibus Highlight Songs: Canibus - 4,3,2,1 LL Cool J - Jack the Ripper Canibus - Second Round K.O. Verdict : Canibus won though it was a close battle and LL Cool J dropped tha best diss out of all them Canibus though overall came out harder. Still Beefin: Though there's no official word that the beef has ended or hasn't and with non of the two parties dissin each other it looks like they're not Worthy Mentions: The Game vs 50 Cent Highlight Songs : The Game - 300 Bars and Runnin The Game - 320 Bars The Game - 120 Bars 50 Cent - Not Rich Still Lyin(horrible diss) Verdict: No Question about it The Game already won with 300 Bars and Runnin Still Beefin: Yes even though Game said he's done with the beef it looks as if 50 Cent as well as G-Unit aren't as u can see in the G-Unit Radio Part 21 Mixtape where they photo edited Game's face on someones body. They should just give it up, you could put every G-unit member into one person and they still wouldnt be as good as the West Coast Rapper the Game LL Cool J vs Kool Moe Dee Highlight Songs : Kool Moe Dee - How Ya Like Me Now? LL Cool J - Jack The Ripper LL Cool J - To The Break Of Dawn Verdict: Though LL lost at first when he demanded a rematch he won the beef because of the two disses "Jingling Baby" and "Murdergram" and Kool Moe Dee couldn't hold it down with the "Deathblow" diss. Still Beefin: No Westside Connection vs Common : Highlight Songs: Westside Connection - Westside Slaughter House Common - The Bitch In Yoo Verdict: There was really no clear winner Still Beefin: No they stopped beefin after pac and B.I.G.'s deaths. Ruthless Records vs Death Row Highlight Songs: Dr.Dre - Fuck Wit Dre Day DPG - What Would You Do? Eazy-E - Real Muthaphukkin G's Eazy-E - World Class Wreckin' Cru Verdict: This beef never really had a clear winner since no one's career was hurt and never hurt their sells and since they amended it before Eazy's death no one really knows who the winner is. Still Beefin: No, people say that the beef really ended when 2pac appeared on Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's cd The Art of War. Cam'Ron vs Jay-Z Highlight Songs: Cam'Ron - You Gotta Love It (Jay-Z Verse)Rick Ross - Hustlin Remix Verdict: No one is really winning the beef even mainly because Jay-Z has too much respect in the hip-hop community and cam'ron has alot of dipset followers, its debatable who's winning and who's losing. Still beefin: Yes, even though its more of a one sided beef since Jay-Z isn't really dissing him back.  more

Resolved Question: When will NY and West Coast rap come back this rap coming from the south is retarded and very ignorant?

Resolved Question: Why do people not like New York rap music anymore?

Its all about the south now. To me all of that southern rap music is cool, but the sounds can get repetitive. At least what I hear on the radio and see on tv. I know the south got stars like TI, Jeezy, Luda, JD, Mike Jones and Trick Daddy. I mean they cool and all, but I miss the dayz when Jay Z was liked by people and when Ja Rule was makin hits like Mesmorize and Livin It Up. People might be sayin that those are old songs, but they are still good songs that I still enjoy listening too, years after they came out. I mean before the south was on the spotlight, who were they listening too?. East and West Coast rappers. Folk in the south act like they are the most successful region to ever do hip hop. New York has been there for a quarter century and still makin hits. Busta Rhymes had a fire album that only went gold. But you have Joc's album that was alright that is platinum now. Diddy's album aint even gold yet and its been out for a month plus. Luda's album went gold in like two weeks.  more

Resolved Question: Recommendations for good rap music.?

I'm dissapointed with the popular selection on the radio. To me the epitome of rap was the 90's west coast/east coast/death row/etc era. But I like Mobb Deep, the Roots, and select others. Anyone have suggestions? (No crap rap commercial bull$hhh). I don't want to hear about shoes, or bling, grillz, bler blah blur.  more

Resolved Question: Has the Dirty South Hip Hop taken over?

It all first started in the East Coast, then the West Coast came out with the Gangsta Rap, now seems all the hip hop thats being played on the radio and on the cable shows all come out the Dirty South and Mid-West areas, why do they seem to be more popular then the East and West Coast rivals?  more
