Open Question: Expensive wedding, but I'm poor. What can I give that's adequate?

I've been invited to a big, expensive wedding given by rich people. I'm strapped. I'm a stay-at-home mom of four. My husband is cheap and poor, but probably will fork over enough for a modest gift, but nothing, nothing can compare to their lifestyle. What gift can I give?  more

Open Question: Just Married. Wedding Gifts?

Hello I was recently married about two weeks ago. My wonderful wife and I opened our gifts before we left for our honeymoon. I was amazed to see some of my closer friends did not give gifts or cards. About four of these were couples that I had attended there weddings a year or two ago and given monetary gifts when I was single. We attened one couples wedding as recently as 3 weeks before my wedding (my fiance and I gave $300) to them...they didn't give even a card? I'm wondering if my card got lost to them or if they flat out didn't give a gift? Or if some of them got lost? I checked with the hotel and no stragglers were found. I'm not the petty type but it really bothers me that I had given monetary gifts to a lot of these couples fairly recently or at least a couple of years ago when I had nowhere near the financial stability I have today. I'm also a business owner so I wonder if in their mind they think that we have enough. We are going to do thank you cards soon so I'm wondering what to do...but I admit I'm a bit peeved by this. I'm not upset about the not giving of a gift as I understand that these are tough economic times. What bothers me is no card or well wishes at all. As i said before I have atteneded their weddings in the past and at least gave a gift...If I didn't give a gift I would have at least given a card to acknowledge their special day in some way. The gift is not the problem its nothing in the form of well wishes  more

Open Question: Story Alert! Please read and rate!?

Okay I made this up while I was on vacation on Lake Tahoe! It was cold, it was getting dark, and Angel couldn't find it in her self to leave this mysterious place. Angel was not her name of course, but everyone had called her that from the day she was born, and she didn't like it. She was as normal as everyone else, she only did things to help, but when she was born, it wasn't her fault she was weak. She had been born as an infant with a fatal disease that had made her weak, and very small as a baby. All the doctors had said she wouldn't make it, but her mother prayed, and Angel survived, and was named Angel, taken to death, and brought back into her mother's arms by an angel they said. After that her mother always told her, Angel be wise, death took you once, don't let it take you again, be kind and always treat others as you would yourself." She brought her up on Christian beliefs, and told her if she wanted a place in this world, she must always help and do her best to repay god for letting her live. Of course Angel obied by these rules, and grew up as a saint. When she was three years old she made a speech for her deceased grandfather that made every eye in the room tear up. Then when she was five, she saved a whole family of cats from a fire, by almost getting herself killed. After that she saved a man from drowning when she was eight from using the kiss of life. She did countless deeds that got her medals from the mayor, and honor awards as best citizen. Everyone in the town knew her as just Angel. But after her mother died, things changed. Her mother had been the former sweetheart of the town, loved by everyone. Her father became rich from all the gifts people had given them. Everyone had loved her, and after her death everyone was aggravated, and heart brokenly sad. "How is going to take care of poor saint Angel?" "Who will treat her garden?" "Where will her house go?" "Who will bring the spirit of the town?" All the questions swirled. Everyone knew her father, as the scum he was, and know one cared about him. Her mother had had an arranged marriage, as family tradition, only Angel was permitted not to, she was going to end the family line, but after her mother's death, it was her father who decided. He told her she must marry to have a roof over her head because he wasn't paying for her. He was a ruthless man, a tyrant, and had always hated Angel for her beauty, and how she looked like her mother and not him. She had golden curly hair, sky blue eyes, and her perfect smile, nothing like her father's dark brown locks, muddy eyes, and stern mouth. He hated her every much as he had hated her mother, and she couldn't stand to have to marry a man like that? What man would agree to such an abomination? But now Angel had died too, poor angel everyone said, but Angel wanted to know her real name, so she checked the town court, and they told her, and it surprised even her. Her name was Abigale Towney, but tomorrow it would be Abigale Aubry. The Aubry's were the richest family in the whole town every knew, and when Mr. Aubry also known as Mr. Kind heard that the Angel had been abandoned, he swooped in and proposed his son marry her. Without asking her if she approved, her father arranged it, and sent her off to become a bride at 15. The boy, whatever his name was 16, and Angel hated him already, for him to have agreed just made her...madder than Angel had ever been in her life. How could he do that, just take her, and force her to marry him at so young, her mother never would have approved, but now she had no choice. Her mother was gone, and she had no one know, and without the marriage, she would surely become just another beggar off the street, everyone was rich here, and no one wanted an abandoned child. Even if she was the angel, only the kindest would take her in. She would have to marry that boy, and tomorrow, she would be Mrs. Aubry, a Mrs at age 15! It still surprised her. She looked up at the wide window with the pearly flower designs, and the organ with the white blanket cover. There was a long white carpet with roses embroidered on it. She remembered very well what the roses were for, her grandmother had made that, it was the marriage blanket, and every couple that walked on it got its own rose with their names and year of marriage. She walked up the isle, practicing, taking her time. This was what she had come here for, the name, the name of her groom. She saw the smiling faces of everyone looking on her from the roses, all the pictures of the happy couples, she would not be happy. She finally found the last rose. 2010 Mr. and Mrs. Aubry was all it said, with no picture yet, that would be taken at the wedding. She sighed, no name, well Mr. Aubry, I guess we'll leave you nameless. She walked back down the aisle, counting her steps... Here comes the bride, wait til she dies, her mother is gone, and she's s Here comes the bride, wait till she dies, her mother is gone, and she's so lonelllllly. She hummed the words, and tears fell on the roses. "WOO HOO, TODAY IS THE DAY I GET THE HOUSE TO MYSELF, AND THE NEXT DAY AND THE NEXT DAY AND THE NEXT, GET UP BRIDE, YOUR HUSBAND TO BE IS WAITING! OH BOY AM I HAPPY!" Pa was cheering yanking the covers off her bed like a hooligan. She sat up, her eyes wide with astonishment, her father beamed at her. "Come on Rain Drop, you’re getting married, your gonna leave the house, your all grown up, let's go!" He was happy of course, he would get all the money to himself, and someone else would have to feed me, and take care of me now. He had only done it for six months, but now she was already leaving. She rolled out of bed, and checked her clock 10am, they would get married at exactly 12, and that was when she would see her groom. It was a weird wedding, she would have a veil, she couldn't see through, and only when he kissed her would she see him, oh boy! She then went her closet, completely emptied out, and picked out her one outfit, a long white dress, her wedding gown. All her clothes were already in her new home, a house just off where his parents lived, a nice house, three times her home now. She sighed, and pulled the dress out of its cover. The big white bells above the door were polished, the golden booths were shiny, and every single row was filled, people were crowded outside. She almost had to close her ears as she came up the pathway. It was time, she only had a few minutes, and everyone else was in line, all her bride's maids, the little flower girl, the ring barrier, everyone was ready. She stepped behind them all, still no smile. Everyone was cheering. "Hooray for Angel!" "She's getting married!" "Aw she's so beautiful!" She was used to their excitement. She was an icon in her city, the angel, and the angel would now get to meet her prince, and she hated him, now that was a story plot twist. It was beautiful, she had seen it a million times, and it had always awed her, she used to think, man one day I'm gonna wear that and be the happiest woman in the world, well she wasn't feeling too hot. This dress had been passed down in her family for five generations, she was the sixth, and now she was going to marry someoen she didn't know, just as her five ancestors did, her mother, her grandmother, her great grandma, great great grandma, and so on. It was long, it a train as big was the room, with flowers all over it. The chest was cut in a V, innocent, and not too low. There were flowers all over the chest part, and a V waist, that led out into a poufy bottom. Her sleeves were long, and V backed to her middle finger, with sheer lace that was see through, more white flowers. And finally, the veil that went atop her curly golden hair, and covered her forhead in pure whtie silk, but her lips were in the plain lace, see able. She sighed, and began to take off her clothes, slipping the dress on easy. She was a small 5'3, and had to have the dress fitted, but now it worked perfect. She put on her high heel white shoes with more lace, and her guarder on her thigh. She couldn't believe it she was getting dressed for her wedding alone, silently and miserable, not what she had imagined. She then went to the bathroom to fix her hair, it was very simple, her hair was always bouncy and curly, and you didn't have to comb it. It was always shiny and perfect, and never messed up, but she didn't want it down today, she wanted to stand proud, and look spohisticated, older than her mere 15 years. She took her up into a straight pony tail, and let the curls roll down her back to her waist, but this was different, and she had made this decision a long time ago, it wasn't the only reason she was putting it up. She took the end of her curly pony tail, and began to chop with her scissors, cutting several inches off. She kept chopping until it was a shoulder length pony tail. She held her shoulders straight looking on the long curly locks on the floor. She left them there. Then she added the tiara to the effect by placing her veil on her head like a crown, pushing it back so she could see. She looked like a golden Angel, like she always did, and this was her wedding day, and she wasn't smiling. She went down the stair as slow as possible, but when her faher came, he grabbed her and rushed her down. "Come on prissy, your gonna be late, you only have 45 minuets, you took forever to get dressed! She sighed, only wishing it could have been forever. Of course, he didn't say she looked nice, he was used to her beauty, everyone was, but everyone else still said something. She huffed and got in the car, for once angry at her beauty, she ahdn't much noticed it before, but now was when it would matter most. She should look her best on her wedding day, with a smile, no smile present, she was really getting depressed. The car ride was long, and tiresome, and pretty much boring, and when they finally got there, she made no attempt at looking amazed, she had snuck out to see it, and she already knew. She choked back her tears and held her breath, willing her eyes not to be red when he pulled off her veil, her veil. She wasn't even listening the preacher droned; she was waiting for her part now, focused. Another tear slipped, and something came on her cheek, that soft hand, and whipped the tear off, she would have cried more. Her mom was the only one allowed to touch her that way, no one had the right, and she needed her mom. The hand had done her job, but not very good, she wasn't feeling comforted at all, not with his warm touch still lingering on her cold face. The crowd let out another round of Awes. And she wanted to just tell them to be quiet, and not make her feel worse. The rings came and went, she put his on, with his finger's guidance, and he slipped hers on carefully, it felt weird on her finger, out of place, nothing went on that finger...and she wished it wasn't there. She was an icon in her city, the angel, and the angel would now get to meet her prince, and she hated him, now that was a story plot twist. Then the music began and everyone began to walk in, the doors to the church opening and closing. Then it was her turn. Angel stepped up to the door, and looked grim, her father quickly laced his arm through hers, he was beaming. "I love you honey...make me proud!" He said, which shocked her, and then the doors opened. "Veil!" My dad said and quickly smacked my head almost pushing it down to cover my eyes, I completely forgot. Then he was leading, I had no idea where to go, but all I heard was gasping, and crying and silence except for the wedding march.... "Here comes the bride, all dressed in white..." Her dad hummed, she kept her face straight. Then her father took her hand and put it in another, a cold hand, a softer hand, the hand held hers for a minute, then helped her up the steps, one hand on her waist. She was up, and she looked coldly forward, knowing he could not see her as much as she could not see him. She was getting married, and her mother wasn't watching. A tear fell down her face, and then something happened, more tears, her eyes got all red and tears were flowing freely. She sniffled, and then caught her breath before she sobbed. The crowd let out a bunch of Awes, and she stopped. She choked back her tears and held her breath, willing her eyes not to be red when he pulled off her veil, her veil. Then the preacher said the words..."Do you take this man...to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold for..." She listened, and just on cue she said coldly. "I do" too fast for him to finish the last word, he stuttered then continued. And at that moment when it was his turn to speech, she choked up...he was going to kiss her, the realization just hit her, her first kiss, a stranger, her husband. Her mouth almost fell open. "I do..." he said in a voice almost as cold as Angel's...maybe he was as mean as her father, then those hands were at her neck, pulling the veil off, oh boy. Then the whole crowd gasped for what was behind that veil shocked everyone, a beautiful blue eyed girl, eyes open astonished, tears sparkling on her eyelashes, the spitted image of her mother at the stand. Then the preacher said the words..."Do you take this man...to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold for..." She listened, and just on cue she said coldly. Open Question: What do you think Fake marriage ring flourished happy couples came prepared for meetings with immigration?

Some showed up with wedding albums featuring photos of the smiling bride and groom. Some wore rings, necklaces or mementos they said were gifts from their new spouses. Some told stories about how they met and fell in love. Many held hands and acted the way people expect newlyweds to behave. But their performance was just that: An act. Federal authorities in Cincinnati say the couples were part of a massive marriage fraud scheme that involved hundreds of immigrants who sought and were sometimes granted legal residence in the United States through phony marriages to citizens. Documents made public recently in federal court describe an elaborate, long-running operation that authorities believe is the largest of its kind in the region's history. "The base of operations was centered in Cincinnati, but it's nationwide," said Rich Wilkens, the agent in charge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Cincinnati. "It's national in scope." Some couples didn't meet until the day they got married and many knowingly used phony documents and bogus wedding albums to bolster their cases with immigration officials, who review marriages between immigrants and citizens through a series of interviews to determine whether they are legitimate. Federal prosecutors say the couples were essentially instructed to put on a show for the interviewers in hopes of convincing them they really were newlyweds, happily living together. Prosecutors say the creator of the scheme is Bozhidar Bakalov, a U.S. citizen originally from Bulgaria who is now serving a three-year prison sentence. They say Bakalov, a former Procter & Gamble manager, kept spreadsheets, set up a client referral service and ran his illegal match-making service like any other business. Authorities aren't sure how much money Bakalov made before he went to jail last year, but they say he charged thousands of dollars to connect Russian and Eastern European men to American women willing to fake a marriage for cash. read further @ http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20090703/NEWS01/907040330/Fake+marriage+ring+flourished+  more

Open Question: Wedding party troubles... younger girls?

I haven't had a close female friend since my sophomore year of college (I'm 27). My sisters are both over 40, and not really interested, so I'm planning on asking my nieces to be my bridesmaids. The oldest is 18, next is 14, then 10. Here's the trouble: I love, but can't stand the 10 year old, but I know that if I leave her out, she'll feel rejected by our family, once again. She's my brother's daughter, and he didn't marry her mom, in fact, he refused to believe that she was his until she was a year old. Long story short, she needs to be included, but I just can't fathom having her as a bridesmaid at all (she's a total spaz). I still plan to put her in a matching dress along with the older nieces. Would it be appropriate to give her another job at the reception? My mother suggested having her stand at or sit next to the gift table. Are there any other appropriate duties for a 10/11 year old girl at a reception? The wedding itself is an LDS Temple ceremony, so there won't be any children in attendance at all, no Bridesmaids or Groomsmen in a row or anything, so that's not an issue.  more

Open Question: Does proper etiquette demand that I need to wear a suit to a relative's wedding?

I will be attending the wedding of a nephew, some two thousand miles away. My entire immediate family, and many of my extended family will be there. I am the only one traveling more than a few miles to attend. Having gained thirty or forty pounds since the last time I wore my suit, some ten years ago, I find I can't fit into it. I have already spent over five hundred dollars on plane fare, car rental, and a wedding gift. I can't afford to spend an additional three hundred to five hundred dollars to buy a suit I will wear only once. Would I be insulting my nephew and his bride-to-be if I opted to wear my best shirt and slacks, instead, when the rest of the family will be dressed to the nines? If I have to buy so as not to offend my family, what are my alternatives to find a cheap suit? And by cheap, I mean around one hundred dollars, no more. I live in Dallas, Texas.  more

Open Question: Is there a point where you should no longer throw a shower?

In regards to wedding and baby showers...after how many weddings (for the same person) and babies is it time to say enough? Or is it ever? For example, if someone is on their 3rd marriage or so? Or they are having another baby of the same gender as the prior 1 or 2? Or, is it okay to have a shower to celebrate and ask for gifts for each marriage/baby? Just curious...I have friends who I have bought gifts for who are celebrating their 3rd marriages and 4th child (4th boy) and still registering for gifts. I don't want to seem rude but it just seems like the same group of friends has been buying gifts for the same people from the same registry for years. I would assume they have everything they need?  more

Should they be returned to the giver, donated to charity, or exchanged for cash for the family? What is the proper protocol in such situations? I know that in the case of an engagement party that if the couple separate before the wedding that the gifts must be promptly returned. But I could not find an answer online for this particular situation! (This is just hypothetical in my case, please don't be concerned!) :0)  more

Open Question: Would you continue buying gifts for someone who never gives you anything?

My husband's older brother's birthday is coming up and I don't want to buy him a gift this year. In the 10 years I've known my brother-in-law, he has never once purchased a birthday gift for my husband or myself. He rarely gives us Christmas gifts. He didn't even bother giving us a wedding gift - even though he was in the wedding party! Money really isn't the issue with this guy; I know he pulls in a very nice income. Yet he acts like he's not required to give gifts to anyone in the family. Or, he'll ask us to squeeze his name on to the gifts we're giving around the holidays (even though he never offers to pitch in any money). So I think we should stop giving him gifts! My husband disagrees - he says that his brother's poor etiquette isn't an excuse for us to behave the same way. What do you think? And it not just that he doesn't give gifts - he doesn't call, write, or even acknowledge anyone's birthday besides his own. I don't want to be stingy about it... but I feel like if he doesn't want to participate in gift giving, why should we?  more

Open Question: What gift can I get the best man? Please help!!! Lol?

We're getting married July 25th, and we have all the gifts for the wedding party already ordered and on it's way. All that is except the Best Man's gift. We can't figure out what to get him. We got the groomsmen 20oz personalized beer glasses, but want to get something different for the best man. He: -doesn't smoke -doesn't drink, (alcohol or coffee) -doesn't wear cuff links, -doesn't play golf, -doesn't really play any sport -was recently married in June -is retired army and attending a University -is majoring in film production -is a DJ for a local radio station and works in production at a news stage We can't get him a watch or personalized money clip (one, they seem rather "cheesy" after getting the groomsmen personalized mugs, and he just gave those to HIS best man who is the GROOM in our wedding.....any ideas would be more than welcomed!!!!  more

Open Question: What process do I go through to sue someone in Scotland?

I don't want to spend a lot of money, is there a small claims court option? I'm from the States originally, and don't know the Scottish court system well. My home was robbed and the person who did it has been caught and convicted, but none of our £3000 worth of property was recovered. It seems completely stupid now, but we didn't have insurance yet. I've been told we can sue him, since he did profit off our loss, he's admitted to the robbery, and we lost £3000 but have gotten nothing back. I really just want this creep to suffer. Yes, he'll probably go to jail for a while (he still has to be sentenced), but that's not enough and he probably made quite a bit of money off of our loss, and I think he should repay us. He came into our home when we were on our honeymoon, went through our belongings, stole my husband's brand new very expensive television (he spent months figuring out what television he wanted, and I got it for him as a wedding gift), took my grandmother's pocket watch (probably not worth much when he pawned it, but my grandmother meant the world to me and I loved that watch), my brand new laptop with ALL of my personal photos (vacation photos that cannot be replaced), and even stole our change jar! He is scum, and I want him to pay. Someone please help! What process do I go through? I don't want to spend any money (just bought a house). Can we sue him and then also get him to pay the court costs?  more

Open Question: Why would man men want to get married these days what is the benefit ?

Hi here is the question Why Would a Single Strait sexually normal man/men want to get married at all? These days there are way more cost then benefits for men to get married? 1)Jewelry is expensive A) engagements B) Wedding C) Holladay’s New Year, Christmas, Every Anniversary, Mothers day while child is still not smart enough to make a gift 2)Wedding cost some over 100K and that’s want women want so they will remember the wedding for the rest of their life ! 3):Trips / Tourism After Wedding, and Probably at least once every year for the whole family, Counting Air fair, Sleeping in Motel / Hotels , Restaurants 4)Once your married Your also responsible for your wife’s finance problems College Cost that has not been paid off, Credit Cards debt, and Your Credit Score is autumnally impacted by her credit score , as hers is impacted / effected by yours score BECAUSE YOUR MARRIED !!! 5)Separations : These days it is very conman for people to separate temporarily instead of arguing or solving problems. Which is smart and dome at the same time! By the way during all the time your separated your partner could be cheating on you !!! 6)Clothing Cost : I admit living as a woman is difficult and costly but once any guy gets married, his clothing cost will probably triple that is 3 times more then you spend when you were single. This does not count cost of any child dippers, and clothes that sizes and style will be changing every 6 months . 7)Health Care insurance service , Co-pay is Sky rocketing !!! these days unless Obama solves the national healthcare problem! 8)EXTRAS : this includes Make-up, Laundry, Auto, Auto Insurance, Additional services like SPA / Fitness, Restaurants, shopping in malls and online, Additional Cell phone lines, Text message, and other similar cost. 9)AND EVENTUALLY there is the College cost for each student, whether a responsible parent puts 4% of each pay-check to a Saving account for each child’s long term education, or Barrows money form bank when the time comes, to give each child the opportunity to get Bachelors Degree or Masters 10)Now if anyone thinks sex is the main reason to get into long term relationship, I think that is one expensive sex comparing what all the cost you have to go through, and masturbating can be each cheap way to solve the problem, and buying hookers would be even cheaper make life so much easier ! 11)There is no guarantee that wife will stay will you in long term, look over 50% USA population gets divorced at least once in the live time, and if child has divorced parents their probability of getting divorced is 7/10 ; so future generations will only have higher % of families getting divorced ! 12)Long term expectation: If people are likely going to get divorced, then you can not rely or expect 100% confidence that you Partner will stay and support you until, no matter even if you get sick until you die. Like said during marriage ceremony. NOW TELL ME THE BENEFITS, WHY exactly SHOULD any MEN MAN Be looking for long term series Relationship after reading all the above?  more

Resolved Question: Far Away Wedding of Close Family Member ok to Say No to?

My fiance's brother is now engaged. My fiance has been asked to be the best man. The brother wants to have his wedding in a place we really, really don't want to ever go to, and the brother knows this. I could deal with this fine, though, and not complain too much if the destination was not more than halfway across the country! We have been saving up for a lot of things that are important to us for a while now and this trip would set us back quite a bit. The brother thinks the destination will save money on the wedding, but I really don't understand how. Plane tickets for us will cost something like $500 each. I'd rather put some of it towards their wedding gift or the wedding itself. The brother seems very excited about his plans. But can we (as politely as we can) tell him that we are not? Hmm. To give more detail... I can have a say, I think, and in the way our families work I can. I am following what my fiance thinks about all of this and we are of the same opinion on the matter. We have been together happily for ten years and friends for longer! It is not like I am just some stranger trying to run his brother's show. We all think it would be very strange if my fiance went and I did not go. I'm just not used to the close-knit "family always first" ways, but I'm not exactly offended by the comments. Also, I would never tell him we're not excited about his plans. We are happy for them, but we would instead tell him it is a burden on us financially and probably others as well. But the rest would be up to him. I just want him to know. I also fear my fiance is the best man out of the brother feeling pressured to make him this. They really aren't super-close or anything. My fiance and I wouldn't mind if someone turned down position in our wedding. It would be disappointing, but getting worked up about it is silly. To answer a question, the wedding is a "fun" one, no one lives nearby or ever has in our families. I don't think family will be "mad" at the brother for not going. It's a pretty laid-back, drama free family. They might be a little sad. But I didn't say we didn't want to go. i just want our position to be understood. I find it more and more surreal that people think so much of weddings. I am understanding the term "Bridezilla" more. I understand wanting to have a nice wedding, but I think people get very selfish. We've been saving up and what, we have to put all of it towards a family members' wedding now? Not our wedding, our vacation, our NEEDS? I was choosing a simple wedding because I didn't want to hurt anyone financially.  more

Open Question: Flower arrangements and finishing touches?

I have decided to make my own flower arrangement as a gift for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. I have seen some lovely arrangements with gems stuck on the flowers but I am not sure how to do this. What type of glue do you use and what the best method for sticking them on? Also I have seen bunches of flowers where the cellophane at the bottom forms like a bubble shape with water inside can anypne tell me how you do this. Also any advice on how to make the arrangement look extra special would be appreciated. I was thinking of doing a bunch rather than a display using the green oasis stuff. Thanks in advance  more

Resolved Question: Why has this upset me?!?

For our wedding (8/1/09) my fiance and I purchased 5"X5"X2" white cake boxes. They came flat. I spent hours stamping and embossing the boxes with different wedding-themed designs and had a blast doing it. My fiance and I then built all the boxes at his house. They are AWESOME and I love them! The issues? His mother took one of the boxes that I embossed and gave it to a family member as the box for their wedding gift - and never even asked us if she could have one! We have plenty of plain boxes she could have had, we over-ordered by at least 25 and I would have given her as many as she wanted. However, now she has given away not just a plain box or a box she decorated, she took one of the boxes I worked on and gave it away before my wedding. I am so hurt by this and upset. These boxes are a personal touch for our wedding, something unique to us and special to me. I am hurt that his mom gave away one of the boxes without asking and especially before our wedding! We haven't even had the event yet! And now my fiance asked me if his mom could have another box for another wedding she's attending before ours. I don't know what to do. I don't want her giving out the boxes I made for my wedding as gifts for other people's! Am I wrong to be hurt? What should I do?! I just can't believe she took something that we made for OUR wedding and gave it away before we even got to celebrate... Ugh! Thanks for the advice! Thanks everyone! Even those who think I'm being dramatic/unruly. I am glad some people understand how I feel, even if everyone doesn't. To those of you who don't understand, that's cool. I appreciate your honesty. OH and PS: Just to clarify, I am not angry at her, I don't get angry about stuff. I was just hurt.  more
