What shall I do?
Sorry it's long I have nothing to do. as you know my laptop died and I live on that. So, the home computer sucks. It didn't have internet before, now it does. But when something was wrong with it, everything had to be cleared. I mean EVERYTHING. Now the frigging internet security my family put up is sh*t. It blocks EVERYTHING. I can only go on yahoo answers, twitter and wikipedia. No-one talks to me. EVERYONE hates me. for no effing reason. I can be lively, i have a good personality. Everyone in school hates me because of bullies in school, they turned everyone against me. best friend is not loyal. She ALWAYS makes plans with another friend, nearly every weekend they go to eachothers house. She doesn't want to go to thorpe park with me so she went with the other friend and rubbed it in my face and trying to make me jealous by texting me 'how awesome saw was' although i went on it b4. Now my sister is off to a party as usual. I don't even think I can go to my friends birthday party because of a friggin barbeque. This happened before. 2 years ago for my friends birthday party she invited me to go ski-ing but I had to go to a wedding, so i was hated after that. It's not my fault. I don't make the decisions. Now what shall I do for next week? I got angry on twitter so I called everyone a s s holes even my favourite band. For some reason they are so funny and enthusiastic to other fans but with me they are...boring and not bothered. People like my friend more, even before they meet her. They don't like me straight away. I know why people don't like me and only my friend. My friend is half Irish and blonde. That's why they like her. They don't like me because I am asian. THAT IS THE FRIGGIN REASON. I stand up for what I belive in, I stand up for what is right, I don't kiss up to the popular b*tches like evryone including my friend. That's why everyone turned against me. weird isn't it. I have given up being fun, lively, funny since no-one cares. because all they care about is looks. I thought everything stopped for a few months but it has come back. Just now, my mum was yelling at me because I feel down and a little angry and she goes on about I thiknk I know it all and you should hear her SHE is the one who thinks SHE knows it all. I have no talent people call me ugly and fat I never used to let these things get to me, but I have cracked. Now it all does get to me. anyway. Thanks for reading this. moreOpen Question: Is it true that people thought to be long dead can actually just be in a stupor?
I remember reading an article a few years back about how a man in Russia was found to be living because of his low frequency brain waves - he had fallen into a stuporthatt made him seem quite dead due to a injection that he had been given unbeknownst to him - it was considered a synthetic hotshot that was a combination of a synthesized morphine and a medical grade cocaine. These drugs were actually quite popular in underground street culture but what was significant was that this Russian security agent had been in Europe when he "died" and weeks later in Russia he was found to still have low frequency brain function and with proper care recovered. There are all kinds of stories in the media but this was quite an international mystery where the culprit was never found. I was wondering did Michael Jackson have a brain wave analysis either at the hospital or afterward? His nurse, Cheryl Lee said that he had called her in distress saying that one side of his body was burning hot and the other side was freezing cold - I do not know the exact medical theory behind it but if she can recall which side was hot or cold and where in his extremities he was affected medically it is possible to map a pretty accurate location of injection site. I really pray that Michael wasn't given an extensive autopsy and that he is in an extensive stupor like this Russian KGB agent was. The combination of morphine and cocaine might have been illegally administered to Michael without his knowledge as he had been quite sleep deprived and if he had been administered such it wouls also explain why he was experiencing such levels of fatigue and insomnia. We love you Michael and want you back - I hope somebody will check and see if there is even the vaguest possibility that something such as the above could have happened. moreOpen Question: What do you think of Sheamus(O'Shaunessy), are you his fan yet?
Sheamus began his career by training in Larry Sharpe's Monster Factory wrestling school. He officially debuted six days after completing his training and wrestled as a face under the name "Sheamus O'Shaunessy". A serious neck injury, however, sidetracked his career for two years. In May 2004, Farrelly returned to wrestling, again under his Sheamus O'Shaunessy ring name, at the newly opened Irish Whip Wrestling school in Dublin. He then made his debut match for the promotion at their Mount Temple show on July 9 against Mark Burns, which he easily won. After this, he went on to wrestle and defeat several international wrestlers, including Vid Vain, Matt Striker, Xavier, and Mikey Batts. In March 2005, he defeated Vid Vain, Darren Burridge, and former ally Red Vinny to become the IwW's first ever International Champion. O'Shaunessy later began a feud with Burridge for the title. During a title defense against D'Lo Brown, Burridge hit him in the head with a baton, thus costing O'Shaunessy the match and his title. O'Shaunessy and Burridge finally squared off in a grudge match, which saw O'Shaunessy successfully exacting his revenge and winning the match. He then set his sights on winning his title back and defeated both Red Vinny and Vic Viper to become a participant in a triple threat match for the International title match against D'Lo Brown and The Assassin at a show in Newcastle in October. O'Shaunessy pinned Brown to win the match and his second International title. He then successfully defended his title against Vampiro in late 2005. On October 21, 2006, O'Shaunessy officially turned heel at No Limit Wrestling's "Halloween Slam" event. He defeated Vampiro once again to retain the title on Saint Patrick's Day in 2006. Farrelly then begun wrestling predominately for All Star Wrestling. While he was unsuccessful in his bid for ASW British Heavyweight Championship, he vowed to continue his hunt for the title, but he later left ASW to wrestle for Real Quality Wrestling. On March 24, 2007, O'Shaunessy debut for RQW by defeating Stu Sanders. He then went on to have a popular feud with Drew Galloway, which resulted in their first match against each other on April 20 that ended in a double countout. On June 16, both men faced off for the second time, this time in a no holds barred match, which Galloway came out as the winner. Soon afterwards, O'Shaunessy left RQW. O'Shaunessy appeared at the televised Raw show in the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, England as a member of WWE's security team. His role was to eject D-Generation X from ringside. After escorting them from ringside, DX later attacked Rated-RKO after their match, resulting in O'Shaunessy and the rest of the security team coming down to the ring to break up the fight. O'Shaunessy and the security team were attacked by DX. O'Shaunessy was the last security guard standing and he received a Pedigree from Triple H as a result of his interjection. O'Shaunessy also had a tryout with the World Wrestling Entertainment in November, around the time of a Dublin house show. In April 2007, O'Shaunessy was called upon by the WWE once again for another tryout, which became a dark match against Jimmy Wang Yang in the Datch Forum in Milan before a SmackDown! taping. The following week in the Earls Court, O'Shaunessy was once again back at a WWE house show, where more tryouts were held. This time, however, he was signed to a developmental contract. After receiving his contract, he was placed in WWE's newest developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). On February 19, 2008, O'Shaunessy teamed up with the debuting Kafu and were joined by SmackDown! superstar Dave Taylor as they took part in a tag team tournament to crown the first-ever holders of the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship. They advanced past the first round after defeating "Thee Superstar" Christopher Gray and "The Rascal" Tommy Taylor but lost to Brad Allen and Nick Nemeth in the second round. On July 22, O'Shaunessy worked a dark match at the SmackDown/ECW tapings, losing to Ron Killings. On September 18, O'Shaunessy defeated Jake Hager at an FCW show to win the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship. After nearly three months as champion, O'Shaunessy lost the FCW Championship on December 11 to Eric Escobar in a fatal four-way match also involving Joe Hennig and Drew McIntyre. In May 2009, O'Shaunessy began appearing at Raw brand house shows, and on both May 8 and 9, he defeated Jamie Noble. O'Shaunessy also defeated Noble in a dark match prior to Raw. He made his ECW debut on June 30, 2009, defeating a local jobber. moreResolved Question: What do you think of this? I picked it up off the net.?
The truth is that there is something wrong with this nation, isn't there? Look around you. In the recent past we've witnessed cruelty, injustice and tyranny. Eric Holder, the recently appointed U.S. Attorney General, has accused Americans of being racial cowards, though the majority of voters voted for a man who is black. Rahm Emanuel has claimed that if you are on a "no fly" list, you have lost your right to be part of the "American family", even though how you were put on the no-fly list, which is not subject to any court hearing or even notice to the persons on the list, is a mystery; you have -- based on some bureaucrat's decision -- become a non-citizen. Your rights stripped from you. Suddenly without warning you are not a citizen except in name only. How many loyal Americans, because of their name, their appearance, the color of their skin, facial hair, religious affiliation, or their origins of birth have been denied their simple, basic civil rights? Millions and counting. If you look around, you might think, "Ah, I'm just a single individual. How can I possibly make any difference at all? I have no power in this country, or in this world." Well, that's wrong. That's what you're taught but its wrong. The government and politicians want you to, indeed need you to, believe that you have no individual power. They want you to surrender the responsibility for this nation and yourself to them, and hence the power to decide, what's good and what's not good for you. The only way they can accomplish this goal is to make you believe, though without a doubt its not true, that you are powerless. But what they want you to believe, its not true. People like me; people who are saying exactly what I am telling you; we, those people some liberals call "naysayers" or members of the "party of no" are feared by the government. And rightfully so. Because when the truth does come out; when you learn that you ultimately have the power and not the politicians and the government; then you can and will make a difference. You can take control of your life; you can guide your nation back to the path of prosperity. That's actually quite easy. This is why they are afraid that if the truth came out; if all of you woke up and realized how badly you're being used and your liberties are being jeopardized; then you would not support them. But worse, what they don't want you to know is that they need you to go along with them, even if you don't realize it. So they tell you lies and half-truths. Just enough to convince you that what they're doing is right. But its not true. No government and no politician can perpetuate its or his existence if the people do not support them, or at the very least do not oppose them. Popular sloth and apathy are the friends of the tyrant and the enemies of liberty. They want you to sleep on your rights. They know that if the majority of people ever awoke to the truth, their jig would be up. If you consider what I am telling you now, then I can offer you a better world for your lives. This is a world without surveillance; without the prospects of a soon-to-be voted-in national security force as powerful if not more powerful than the military; a world that is not run by oligarchs and political elites; but a world that is run by you. A world in which the individual guarantees the security of the nation and its prosperity above the government and its politicians. Two hundred forty years ago, people like you and me stood up and challenged the tyranny of a despotic king, his spies, his soldiers, his taxes and his neglect towards his subjects, their toils and suffering. Two hundred twenty years ago, people like you and me stood up and made a new Constitution which, after dividing power amongst different branches of government, and between the government and the states; guaranteed certain inalienable rights within the first 10 amendments to that constitution. This was done on purpose and with an ultimate goal in mind: that no one entity should have absolute power. One hundred forty years ago, people like you and me stood up and made a new amendment to that Constitution which guaranteed freedom and liberty to everyone, and insured that no state would deny these inalienable rights; and that the government, through the incorporation of these new amendments would respect its citizens, their liberties, their property; and their rights. Above all, those people dreamed of the day when 1 vote would count for every person. Nearly ninety years ago, people like you and me stod up and made a new amendment to the Constitution guaranteeing every woman's right to vote and eliminating an unfortunate bias in our history which the 14th Amendment seemingly failed to carry through. Yet, throughout this long and incredibly well-meant process, a handfull of administrations and the multitudes of useless bureaucracies spawned by them, have repeatedly sought, in the last 33 years, to take our right to take our rights away; subject our personal lives to ever-increasing scrutiny; to levy heavy and intolerable tax burdens; to centralize power in Washington, DC and take it away from the people from which that power emanates. The time for sleeping is over. Liberty and freedom are the products of vigilence, not sloth. This is your life I'm talking about godammit! Your life! You can give it away to the government in the vain hopes that you will receive a better return; or you can stand free and tall. If you want to look at the alternative my friends, just turn on your television set. Tune in to the news on Iran. We can see what happens when the government makes decisions for its people instead of the other way around. The result is tyranny, misery and death. Its the illusion of democracy and republican government. But yet, this is the plan that is unfolding right now. Time and time again, history has shown us that tyranny and centralized power are dangerous. Look at the former Soviet Union, Tienanmen Square; look at Czeckoslovakia in 1968. Romania in 1990. To all who will stand next to me, I ask that you raise your fist in the air and repeat this: "America! America! America!......" Then ask yourself, would you rather be "safe" based on the lies the government and politicians have fed you, or would you rather be free? moreVoting Question: Am I safe to browse the internet for porn?

(political affiliation)?
I'm going to provide a few opinions regarding certain topics. It'd be nice if you could tell me which party I tend to fit in more. Republican, democrat, libertarian, independent. How far to the left? How far to the right? Gun Control: I oppose of it. I strongly believe in the 2nd amendment, and feel that we all have a right to defend our lives and our property. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. A firearm has never gone off on it's own and killed somebody without a person being involved. With that said, I feel that certain tests should be taken in order for you to be eligible to purchase a firearm. I believe you should be able to pass a basic knowledge test of how to use the firearm, and safety precautions of the firearm. If there were laws against guns, then all of the law obeying citizens would put their firearm away, and all of the criminals would continue to carry, which would endanger the lives of law obeying citizens. Drug laws don't stop possession of narcotics. Abortion: If there is a fetus in the womb, I don't feel it should be taken out and destroyed. My opinion on women getting abortions as a method of birth control is pretty irresponsible, but that's where it ends. I feel abortion should be an option for women in certain circumstances which may involve rape, incest, or other extreme circumstances. Gay Marriage: By definition, marriage is the uniting of a man and a woman. From a personal standpoint, I think homosexuality is completely unnatural and a complete choice, but again, that's where it ends. Even though I'm completely straight, I believe there should be certain civil unions that allow homosexual couples to receive the same benefits as heterosexual couples. However, I'm not so sure it should be called a "marriage" but more so a "civil union". If it makes you happy, and you're not hurting anyone else, then what's the harm? Illegal Immigration: I feel citizenship should be available for illegal immigrants after a short period of time. If they are not eligible for citizenship due to criminal history or whatever reason, then they must be deported. In the meantime, I support the increase of security on our border, whether that means building a better fence, increasing border patrol agents, or developing better technology to prevent illegal immigration. There must be a reason why people choose to come to this country. Maybe speed up the process for immigrants so we don't have as many "illegals" so to speak. Religion: I believe, 100%, that there should be a separation of church and state. Religion is a personal preference, and despite popular belief, this country was not founded on Christianity, in fact, many of the forefathers of this country spoke out and supported the separation of church and state. Teaching of religion should be 100% forbidden in public schools. I don't mind the teaching of religion in a philosophical sense as a part of history, but in no way should it be taught as fact. This is why we have places of worship. Religion is to church as education is to school. If you want to learn about religion, go to your place of worship. Death Penalty: Taxpayers money shouldn't be wasted on keeping certain individuals alive. Rapists, murderers, among other wrong doers don't deserve to be here. Only in certain, extreme situations should these individuals deserve to live. Soft judges make for re offending criminals. Certain individuals need to be knocked off the face of the earth. So yes, I do support the death penalty, and in fact, I think it's not given as a sentence enough. Welfare: I am for welfare to a certain extent. I believe welfare benefits should be available for those who truly need it. If divorced mother of two children was laid off her job, and is struggling to find work and support her children, then welfare benefits should be available for this family until they are able to get back on their feet. If an unemployed woman becomes pregnant, then I believe welfare should only be available with certain incentive programs that encourage this woman to get on her own feet. Welfare should be viewed on a case by case basis in under no circumstances should be taken advantage of by a lazy couple that don't feel like supporting their children on their own, so they decide to leach off of the state, and the working individuals. Health Care Issues: I do not agree with a universal health care plan. If you look at countries that have this sort of plan, you might realize why I feel this way. I also do not think the government (local, county, state or federal) should dictate whether or not we need to get our children vaccinated. Medical issues should be a personal choice, and at no point should a government agency intervene. Conservation: I am all for wildlife and environmental conservation. I feel more effort should be put forth to conserve what is left of our rain forests and jungles. Offshore drilling is completely out of the question. I want the purest oce moreResolved Question: What are your thoughts on this?
OBAMA'S WEAKNESS ISSUE By DICK MORRIS Published on TheHill.com on June 23, 2009 If only President Obama were a third as tough on Iran and North Korea as he is on Republicans, he'd be making progress in containing the dire threats to our national security these rogue nations represent. As it is, the president is letting the perception of weakness cloud his image. Once that particular miasma enshrouds a presidency, it is hard to dissipate. If foreign policy issues actually involve war and the commitment of troops, they can be politically potent. But otherwise, the impact of international affairs on presidential image is largely metaphoric. Since foreign policy is the only area in which the president can govern virtually alone, it provides a window on his personality and use of power that domestic policy cannot. When President Clinton, for example, dithered as Bosnia burned, he acquired a reputation for weakness that dragged down his ratings. It was only after he moved decisively to bomb and then disarm the Serbs that he shed that image. It took President George H.W. Bush's invasion of Iraq to set to rest concerns that he was a "wimp." Jimmy Carter never recovered from the lasting damage to his reputation that his inability to stand up to Iran during the hostage crisis precipitated. So now, as North Korea defies international sanctions and sends arms to Myanmar and Iran slaughters its citizens in the streets, President Obama looks helpless and hapless. He comes across as not having a clue how to handle the crises. And as North Korea prepares to launch a missile on a Hail Mary pass aimed at Hawaii, the Democrats slash 19 missile interceptors from the Defense Department budget. The transparent appeasement of Iran's government -- and its obvious lack of reciprocation -- makes Obama look ridiculous. Long after the mullahs have suppressed what limited democracy they once allowed, Obama's image problems will persist. While Americans generally applaud Obama's outreach to the Muslims of the world and think highly of his Cairo speech, they are very dissatisfied with his inadequate efforts to stop Iran from developing -- and North Korea from using -- nuclear weapons. Clearly, his policies toward these two nations are a weak spot in his reputation. His failure to stand up to either aggressor is of a piece with his virtual surrender in the war on terror. Documented in our new book, Catastrophe, we show how he has disarmed the United States and simply elected to stop battling terrorists, freeing them from Guantánamo as he empowers them with every manner of constitutional protection. Obviously, the Iranian democracy demonstrators will not fare any better than their Chinese brethren did in Tiananmen Square. But the damage their brutal suppression will do to the Iranian government is going to be huge. The ayatollahs of Tehran have always sold themselves to the world's Islamic faithful as the ultimate theocracy, marrying traditional Muslim values with the needs of modern governance. But now, in the wake of the bloodshed, they are revealed as nothing more than military dictators. All the romance is gone, just as it faded in wake of the tanks in Budapest and Prague. All that remains is power. China, of course, fared better after Tiananmen because of its economic miracle. But Iran has no such future on its horizon. The loss of prestige in the Arab world and the end of the pretense of government with popular support will cost Iran dearly. In the meantime, Obama's pathetic performance vis-à-vis Iran and North Korea cannot but send a message to all of America's enemies that the president of the United States does not believe in using power -- that he is a wimp and they can get away with whatever they want. A dangerous reputation indeed. moreVoting Question: Customizing dell laptop help needed?

If hate speech is something we so quietly absorb without disagreeing openly, maybe he should have been providing security for a more safer "Apple-Pie" Americana type building? Yes that makes sense. Overcoming the Past It seems to me that so many people like to blame the past on whatever mistakes are made later on in life. After reading the newspaper, magazines, and autobiographies for many years, I get the feeling that people find it easy to recall the past and lay blame. Johnny who is teased unmercifully by his classmates grows up to commit premeditated murder. The blame lies with the classmates rather than Johnny’s poor choices and lack of control. Whether it was an abusive family, physical trauma, or just anything out of the ordinary, the past seems to play a part, especially when it comes to wrongdoing. However, one can get beyond the past. For instance, Oprah Winfrey suffered a terrible childhood. More than one adult abused her sexually. Her mother abandoned her when she was three years old. Relatives told Oprah the story of how her grandmother would “whip” her mother everyday. Then at the age of nine, a cousin raped Oprah, so sexual abuse was ongoing throughout her teens until she was sent to live with her father. Oprah could have used all of the trauma from her childhood for an excuse to sit around her adult life perhaps doing nothing or wreaking havoc on the rest of the world, blaming the past for her behavior. Instead, she overcame the trauma to become one of the most powerful and wealthiest people in the world. Her popular television talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, provides testimony to how she successfully overcame the past and developed a very fruitful life. I know people personally who have lived terrible lives in the past and went on to become successful later on in life. Growing up in the tight, little village in Monrovia, where everyone knew each other’s business, I recall a childhood friend who had a very difficult life. By today’s standards we were all poor. Nevertheless, most of the neighborhood consisted of hardworking parents raising their families, offering any security and love that they could. One little girl named Becky, however, seemed worse off than the rest of us. Her father drank; her mother sat around mostly and smoked cigarettes. Becky always seemed to be in her own little world. She would sit on the cluttered porch in her tattered clothes and worn out shoes when we were not in school. Her sad eyes peered out through her tousled hair covering her face. Sometimes Becky would play with the rest of us. I never remember her mother calling her in to eat dinner or paying much attention to this child. Her life did not seem as good as that of the rest of the children in the neighborhood. And to top it off, when she was about ten years old, her mother died! She was sent to live on another street in the neighborhood with her Aunt Rose. Much sadness surrounded this child, but today she is one of the most successful people in the community as an owner of her own Becky’s Pride dress shop and as a member of the local School Board. She did not let the sadness of childhood hinder her path to adulthood. Determination, strength, and character can overcome life’s traumas. And Becky certainly exemplifies this. Counselors, psychologists, and the media seem to dwell on the fact that trauma in a person’s life is what frequently causes social problems such as crime. Courts are filled with lawyers arguing their cases by using the past environment as a crutch for current poor choices of behavior. And yes, people like Jeffrey Dhamer, Son of Sam, and other notorious people who have committed horrible crimes blame these actions on their past. This seems to be an easy route to take in addressing serious, underlying problems. However, many people like Oprah and Becky have made the choice to overcome the past and have pursued very rewarding lives. They not only have created a productive life for themselves but also have reached out to others with assistance, direction, influence and support. Oprah and Becky offer a beacon of light in the direction of overcoming a difficult and challenging past. moreVoting Question: What would you grade this?!?
It's a supported-opinion essay, as an admission to AP English! Also what would you grade it? Pit Bulls- Opinion Supported Essay God loved the birds and invented trees. Man loved the birds and invented cages-Jeremy Bentham One often assumes that that pit bulls are a threat to society, without giving thought to the effect of the treatment they receive from their owners. Most people jump to the conclusion that the cause of their behaviour stems from the origins of the breed; however, the pet's management is a significant cause of the animal's attitude towards its environment. Legislation that bans the ownership of specific dog breeds would be contentious, and possibly unenforceable, as it would be difficult to identify individual, non-pedigree animals and, therefore, these laws should not be enacted. In 2008, a 65-pound pit bull saved a woman and her two-year-old son from an attacker. Leaving a playground with her son an unrecognized man accosted her with a knife. Immediately realizing the danger a pit bull miraculously dashed to the scene and charged the man who promptly fled. The dog did not “physically attack” the man, but went at him with enough signs of aggression to make him flee and relinquished sensing the danger was over. No one knows what the dogs intentions were; however, he did save the family's life. What makes this pit bull different from the typical canine with a bad reputation? Seeing as how pit bull owners are intentionally causing their pits to be aggressive, it would make sense for them to keep a pack and not just a single dog. Some pit bull owners treat these dogs with abuse and neglect, which causes them to become aggressive when they grow older, so that these dogs could participate in "dog fighting" - an illegal activity that still persists. Dog fights are when two dogs, generally pit bulls fight until one of these dogs are seriously injured. In most cases the owner of the injured dog will either shoot or abandon the dog. Eliminating this breed will not reduce the number of dog attacks; instead it will shift them onto another breed, such as the rottweiler. The real remedy lies in legislation against the dog owners. They must be heavily fined, jailed, or permanently barred from dog ownership. It is counter-productive and dangerous to enact breed-specific legislation. It will give the public and the legislature a false sense of security that they have addressed a problem. This will also divert law enforcement and animal welfare into detecting and punishing “who owns a banned breed”, when the money and man power actually needs to go to “Who is training ANY breed to be aggressive?”-- WHO is doing this-- not “which breed.” The fact is that ANY breed will be made dangerous by this subset of owners. Right now, it just so happens that pit bulls are more popular with them. In the meantime, we will be stuck with misguided laws that fail to solve the problem. Worse is diverting current money, manpower, law enforcement and court time to ferret out owners of a breed leaving fewer resources for the prosecution and prevention of those with a dangerous plan of dog ownership! In conclusion the idea that pit bulls are aggressive dogs is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Owners who intend to train dogs to become biological weapons disproportionately select pit bulls, because they too have brought into the hype about this breed. If the breed is banned, this kind of owner will simply choose a different breed to abuse and neglect. The only solution is to hold responsible the owners of aggressive dogs – INDIVIDUAL dogs of any breed. Otherwise we are lulling ourselves into a false sense of accomplishment, as well as squandering resources on misguided and misdirected attempts to solve the problem. moreResolved Question: A question about the constitution....?
There are several questions i would like to answer concerning the "legality" of secession- 1. Didn't the outcome of the Civil War prove that secession is not an option for a state? NO. All that was proved was that military force could be used (unlawfully and outside of the authority of the presidency) to force states (who had seceded lawfully, peacefully, and civilly) to remain states. Lincoln refused to recognize the Confederate secession and called it a "rebellion" and a "threat to the government" though he never, conveniently enough, explained how this was a "threat" to the "government" 2. Is there a clause in the Texas Constitution allowing for secession? NO. However it does say that "All political power is inherent in the people ... they have at all times the inalienable right to alter their government in such manner as they might think proper." and "Texas is a free and independent State, subject only to the Constitution of the United States..." (note that it does not state "...subject to the President of the United States..." or "...subject to the Congress of the United States..." or "...subject to the collective will of one or more of the other States...") Similarly the Declaration of Independence states that: "governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed" and "when a long train of abuses and usurpations...evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security" and "whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends [i.e., protecting life, liberty, and property], it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government" using these as the guiding priciples it becomes apparent that if it be the will of the people THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT NOR ANY OTHER POWER HAS THE AUTHORITY TO STOP IT. Doing so would be outside the the authority of the Federal Government and would be an malicious abuse of authority. 3. Doesn't the U.S. Constitution disallow such a thing? NO. The Constitution is entirely silent on the issue of secession. It bears to reason however that since joining the union was ever and always a voluntary action that seceding from it, should it be the will of the overwhelming majority of the people, in a civil and peaceful manner is entirely "legal". And for thought: Unfamiliar with historical or legal details, being largely products of public (i.e., government) "education," today's Texans easily adopt the "politically correct" myths that litter the landscape of American popular opinion. Many don't even know what the word secede means, and believe that the United States is a "democracy" (hint: it's not)[8]. But public opinion and ignorance won't stop us from suggesting that secession is still a good idea for people who value their rights and personal liberty more highly than the temporal affluence, comfort, and false security provided by the U.S. welfare/warfare state. By raising public awareness of even the concept of secession, we hope they might plant seeds that will some day yield a new resolve among Texans for liberty and self-government. moreResolved Question: Legality of Texas Secession?

it's for my english assignment on soap operas, these are the characters so far. please tell what you think, whether i should change some people around or not. it's only a draft but please let me know what you think! Green Family: Joseph Green is the single father of Sophie and Jenny, who has cared for his daughters after Louise left him. He is embarrassing and inspiring, often at the same time and is caring and loyal to all his friends. Sounds like the perfect dad? But with Louise back in his life, his dark secret is in jeopardy of being resurfaced. But the big question on everyone’s lips is, what did he do in his past that is so bad? Sophie Green is an insecure teenager, who dislikes and rebels against her long-lost mother for trying re-enter their family. She is friends with Ben and Lily, and has a big crush on family friend Luke Kinnaird. Although she seems like a normal teenager, Sophie has a lot of problems. Rather than telling her family and friends, she regularly confides in poverty-stricken homeless man Trell Doon, which sparks controversy amongst her opinionated neighbours. Jenny Green is a kind and thoughtful young woman who takes after her father. She loves her father but has started to distance herself from her family due to the arrival of Louise. Her best friend is Erin McLean, who is in a relationship with Chris Riley. Unfortunately Jenny is in love with other Riley brother, Sam, who is fighting Chris for Erin. Will she be able to get Sam to like her over her best friend? Louise Jones (formerly Louise Green) is Joseph’s nasty ex-wife and mother of Sophie and Jenny. Louise is prejudiced and racist, and isn’t afraid to express her opinion. After so many years of avoiding her long-lost family, she tries to involve herself with them. She continually tries to bond with her daughters, but no one is fooled: it is obvious she wants revenge from Joseph, but what for? What does she know about the sinister past lurking behind Joseph’s caring exterior? Or is all just a big lie? Kinnaird Family: Elizabeth Kinnaird has a right to complain, but often doesn’t. The love of her life, Liam, died shortly after the birth of her son, Luke, leaving her to care for her baby by herself. She loves her son very much, and is grateful that he turned out to be a kind and academic boy, despite not having a father or father figure for most of his life. Luke Kinnaird is Elizabeth’s teenage son, who is smart but popular in his group of friends. He loves his mum a lot and is supportive of all her decisions, however crazy they are. Nicknamed by his friends as “Smarty”, Luke is easily the brightest in his grade. But what surprised even him was his instant attraction to rebel Sophie Green. He has been her friend for years and doubts that she would feel the same way about him. Hopefully Luke’s love life will look up in the future. Lily Sheung is a half Chinese, half Australian teenager. Lily moved in with Elizabeth and Luke after she ran away from home. She doesn’t like to talk about why she left home but just says it was about “family issues”. She still keeps contact with her older sister, Poppy, who she speaks Chinese to over the phone. Lily has been in a relationship with teenager Ben Riley ever since she moved in and has helped him with his confidence and problems. Things are looking good for Lily, but will her “family issues” arise again? Riley Family: Chris Riley is the eldest of the Riley clan. He works at the local mechanic workshop repairing pretty much anything with an engine. His relationship with girlfriend Erin McLean is the envy of many, including his own brother Sam. He knows that Erin is just playing games with Sam, but he still sees Sam as a potential threat to his relationship with Erin. But would Sam really do that to his own brother? Sam Riley is the musical Riley brother, earning himself the nickname “Joe Jonas”. Sam has been playing guitar for as long as he can remember. It’s his way of dealing with problems and making people happy. His brothers are his best friends, but he continually fights Chris for his gorgeous girlfriend Erin McLean, even though her best friend in undeniably in love with him. Who knows, maybe if Erin decides which brother she truly loves then Sam can finally realise how great a girl Jenny is. Who knows... Ben Riley is Chris and Sam’s teenage brother, who moved in with them after their father died. He doesn’t really know what he wants in life; he doesn’t think he’s particularly good at anything. This makes him very insecure and sensitive. After the death of his parents, Ben’s only securities are his two brothers and his girlfriend Lily Sheung. Lily helps him when he needs help the most is and also Ben’s best friend. While his life is under control now, could Chris and Sam’s feuding relationship be enough to send Ben over the edge? If you do not want to read everything than please do not answer. I will provide the passage and then list the six most common attempts at saying this passage can coexist with the “once saved, always saved” doctrine. I will then refute these attempts. All of these attempts were real life attempts by supporters of the eternal security doctrine. If you have an argument other than these than go ahead and tell me how this passage can coexist with the eternal security doctrine. Matthew 18:23-35 23"Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents[a] was brought to him. 25Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. 26"The servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.' 27The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. 28"But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii.[b] He grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded. 29"His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.' 30"But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened. 32"Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' 34In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. 35"This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart." I believe this refutes eternal security because after the wicked servant had his debt forgiven he threw the other servant in prison, causing the master (which represents God) to become angry and send the wicked servant to be tortured. In the end Jesus states “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart.” Jesus could not have made it anymore clear. Even after being forgiven of your debt by accepting Christ you can lose that forgiveness by not forgiving others. My opponents will try to alter this clear message to suit their views. The following is a list of arguments they attempt to use to do so: The first attempt: “The wicked servant does not represent a true Christian” My response: God never has and never will forgive non-Christians of their debt/sins as the master initially forgave the wicked servant (while it is true the servant ended up being punished he was initially forgiven in verse 27). Only true Christians can be forgiven. The second attempt: “Jesus was just instructing Peter to forgive. He wasn’t saying anything about salvation” My response: I must emphasize that Jesus said "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart." This is of course referring to the way the master treated the unforgiving wicked servant. The master had the wicked servant tortured until he could pay all his debt because he did not forgive others. There is nothing we can do to pay off the debts of our sins. Only Jesus is capable of doing that and this passage says if you do not forgive others you will not be forgiven. It would appear the logical conclusion we are arriving at is if you do not forgive others you will be tortured for all eternity. The third attempt (and most popular): “No true Christian would be so unforgiving.” Jesus told Peter this parable. Peter is a true Christian. It would seem somewhat redundant to warn Christians that “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart" if all Christians forgave. That is like sounding a fire alarm when there is no fire. There is no point in warning someone of a danger that does not exist. So if there is no danger of a Christian being so unforgiving than why would Jesus warn Peter of the consequences of being so unforgiving? Why would he use the wicked servant to represent a Christian as I established earlier? The fourth attempt: “There is no other verse in the Bible that says God will not forgive you if you do not forgive others.” My response: Once again, I will just use the words of the Son of God this time: Matthew 6:15 (King James Version) 15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. The fifth attempt: “Jesus just said that God will not forgive you. He didn’t say you would not be saved.” My response: That is when we focus our attention back to the parable. We see that the master did two th ings to the wicked servant. The first thing he did was forgive him. The second thing he did was hand him over to be tortured until he should pay back his debt because he did not forgive others after being forgiven. He lost his forgiveness. So clearly if one is not forgiven by God he will be handed over to be tortured until he can pay his debt. However, sin is something that deserves eternal punishment. Therefore this debt shall never be paid. This is demonstrated in the parable when Jesus said the wicked servant owed ten thousand talents. This would be millions of dollars today and is something no person could ever realistically pay off. The sixth and final attempt: “So I guess by saying that “once saved, always saved” isn’t true you are saying that anyone who sins, including Peter has gone to hell?” My response: Peter truly repented. By which I mean he asked for forgiveness and followed that up by making an honest attempt to not sin again. He did not “repent” on Monday and sin b y Tuesday. Anyone who truly repent and forgives others (as proven by the aforementioned verses) shall be forgiven. @ bigdaveyb- This is not the same question because it is a different verse. The REAL reason you are reporting me is because you disagree with me. @ Rene O- So what do you make of the verse that says you will not be forgiven if you do not forgive others? Matthew 6:15 (King James Version) 15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Those who sin deserve hell. If you are not forgiven you go to hell. Jim W says "The primary failure of your rant lies in the fact that the Bible is not (and was never intended to be) a book of laws, rules, and regulations." That was not the Bible's main purpose. HOWEVER, there are plenty of rules in it that we are all expected to follow. The funny part is you accuse me of putting a spin on the verse when you don't back up your own argument with scripture like I did. @ Romans 3:24 (the person not the actual verse). First point - Jesus was not addressing the "once saved, always saved" doctrine. He was giving a lesson in parabolic form (story) on the necessity of forgiving others. My response: While it is true Jesus said it was necessary to forgive others he also said that those who do not will be treated just like the wicked servant in the parable. Second point - never, never build a doctrine on a parable. Jesus was showing that a heart which has truly repented will bear fruit and forgive others (Ephesians 4:29-32, James 2:14-26). A good rule of thumb is if it is illustrated by Jesus in a parable, it can be backed up in doctrine by Paul or Peter or one of the other apostles. They never contradict one another. My response- Jesus used parables to teach us. Third point - do you have perfect forgiveness in you heart like Jesus? Be careful. You could fall into the sin of pride here. My response-Perhaps not perfect but I try. moreResolved Question: Who Rules America, the military, the banks or AIPAC?
What do you suppose it is like to be elected president of the United States only to find that your power is restricted to the service of powerful interest groups? A president who does a good job for the ruling interest groups is paid off with remunerative corporate directorships, outrageous speaking fees, and a lucrative book contract. If he is young when he assumes office, like Bill Clinton and Obama, it means a long life of luxurious leisure. Fighting the special interests doesn't pay and doesn't succeed. On April 30 the primacy of special over public interests was demonstrated yet again. The Democrats' bill to prevent 1.7 million mortgage foreclosures and, thus, preserve $300 billion in home equity by permitting homeowners to renegotiate their mortgages, was defeated in the Senate, despite the 60-vote majority of the Democrats. The banksters were able to defeat the bill 51 to 45. These are the same financial gangsters whose unbridled greed and utter irresponsibility have wiped out half of Americans' retirement savings, sent the economy into a deep hole, and threatened the US dollar's reserve currency role. It is difficult to imagine an interest group with a more damaged reputation. Yet, a majority of "the people's representatives" voted as the discredited banksters instructed. Hundreds of billions of public dollars have gone to bail out the banksters, but when some Democrats tried to get the Senate to do a mite for homeowners, the US Senate stuck with the banks. The Senate's motto is: "Hundreds of billions for the banksters, not a dime for homeowners." If Obama was naive about well-intentioned change before the vote, he no longer has this political handicap. Democratic Majority Whip Dick Durbin acknowledged the voters' defeat by the discredited banksters. The banks, Durbin said, "frankly own the place." It is not difficult to understand why. Among those who defeated the homeowners bill are senators Jon Tester (Mont), Max Baucus (Mont), Blanche Lincoln (Ark), Ben Nelson (Neb), ManyLandrieu (La), Tim Johnson (SD), and Arlan Specter (Pa). According to reports, the banksters have poured a half million dollars into Tester's campaign funds. Baucus has received $3.5 million; Lincoln $1.3 million; Nelson $1.4 million; Landrieu $2 million; Johnson $2.5 million; Specter $4.5 million. The same Congress that can't find a dime for homeowners or health care appropriates hundreds of billions of dollars for the military/security complex. The week after the Senate foreclosed on American homeowners, the Obama "change" administration asked Congress for an additional $61 billion dollars for the neoconservatives' war in Iraq and $65 billion more for the neoconservatives' war in Afghanistan. Congress greeted this request with a rousing "Yes we can!" The additional $126 billion comes on top of the $533.7 billion "defense" budget for this year. The $660 billion--probably a low-ball number--is ten times the military spending of China, the second most powerful country in the world. How is it possible that "the world's only superpower" is threatened by the likes of Iraq and Afghanistan? How can the US be a superpower if it is threatened by countries that have no military capability other than a guerilla capability to resist invaders? These "wars" are a hoax designed to enrich the US armaments industry and to infuse the "security forces" with police powers over American citizenry. Not a dime to prevent millions of Americans from losing their homes, but hundreds of billions of dollars to murder Muslim women and children and to create millions of refugees, many of whom will either sign up with insurgents or end up as the next wave of immigrants into America. This is the way the American government works. And it thinks it is a "city on the hill, a light unto the world." Americans elected Obama because he said he would end the gratuitous criminal wars of the Bush brownshirts, wars that have destroyed America's reputation and financial solvency and serve no public interest. But once in office Obama found that he was ruled by the military/security complex. War is not being ended, merely transferred from the unpopular war in Iraq to the more popular war in Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Obama, in violation of Pakistan's sovereignty, continues to attack "targets" in Pakistan. In place of a war in Iraq, the military/security complex now has two wars going in much more difficult circumstances. Viewing the promotion gravy train that results from decades of warfare, the US officer corps has responded to the "challenge to American security" from the Taliban. "We have to kill them over there before they come over here." No member of the US government or its numerous well-paid agents has ever explained how the Taliban, which is focused on Afghanistan, could ever get to America. Yet this hyped fear is sufficient for the public to support the continuing enrichment of the military/security complex, moreResolved Question: What do you think of this pro second ammendment essay?
I recently found it,it is not my own. Change has no beginning and no end. Change is temporal and impermanent. Change touches the just and the unjust. Change can go as quickly as it comes. "Everything is changeable, everything appears and disappears; there is no blissful peace until one passes beyond the agony of life and death." Times of luxury do not last long, but pass away very quickly; nothing in this world can be long enjoyed."-Buddha. “When individuals change, society will change. And when society changes, the whole world will change.” -Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Many things can change over the time span of the presidency with Obama in the White House. If Obama is as good as he say’s he is (There is no such thing as a honest politician) then the economy should slightly improve. He could stabilize the country or do exactly the opposite. He may act immediately of hesitate. Obama proposes redistribution of wealth and raising taxes on rich people. The rich people worked hard all there lives to get and deserve their money. What more taxes do they want to place on them. All of them are still taxes even retired. So why raise taxes on them they deserve their money.?. The taxes should be even and fair. Shouldn’t they be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor?. Obama has signed an executive order funding abortion clinics which in a way makes him a murderer. “The animal killers do not know that in the future the animal will have a body suitable to kill them.”-Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda,Bhagavad Gita. The same is said for the aborted fetus who is subject to the same principle. No person would want there tax dollars funding the killing of innocents. This executive order however make’s our hard earned cash go towards murder instead of improving the economy. Abortion itself is wrong and why should it be supported.? There is no reason it should be supported. When a fetus is in the womb it doesn’t have the ability to disapprove. The fetus is simply is defenseless and cannot resist. Murder is wrong why fund it.? Obama has signed an executive order closing Guantanamo Bay. Where will the criminal’s go.? If Obama is such a good leader than why would he shut down such a useable facility. What good would it do to send terrorists back to the U.S just so they could cause trouble on homeland. Where would he place all those criminals if he doesn’t simply place them in Guantanamo Bay. There is no good reason to close Guantanamo. There has been not one murder at the facility since it has been opened and yet the growth of criticism increases day by day. A barrage of criticism it no reason to shut down the facility. Those who would have the detainment center shut down have failed to provide fundamental reasons for their cause. Shutting down Guantanamo down only serves to satisfy critics and nothing else. Obama said he’s going to use diplomacy with the terrorists and that’s he’s going to close Guantanamo . Those terrorists don’t believe in diplomacy. They believe in what they believe even if it’s wrong. They don’t care to hurt innocent people and children who had lost there parent’s and have to grow up without parent’s just like what happened in 9/11. Those terrorists don’t care about us. So do you think we can give them diplomacy.? Do you think if you give a tiger candy it wont kill you.?. Do you think that if you talk nice to the people who tried to attack the U.S and kill us they will listen to reason ?. Obama may attempt to overrule the second amendment. Although from the pacifist point of view this is a good thing it does have strings attached, . According to the FBI, states with 'shall issue' Right-To-Carry laws have a 26 percent lower violent crime rate, a 20 percent lower homicide rate a 39 percent lower robbery rate and a 22 percent lower aggravated assault rate than states that do not allow their citizens to legally carry guns. Carrying a gun is a social responsibility. A person who neglects his duty to provide and contribute to the security of the his community is no better than the criminal who threatens it. Even though most people don’t carry guns the chance a victim armed with a handgun eliminates crime and provides safety. “Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. “This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used, and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to bear arms is just on more guarantee against arbitrary government , one more safeguard against tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proven to be always possible.” -Senator Hubert Humphrey, in “Know Your Lawmakers” Guns Magazine, Feb 1960. Taking away the second amendment will change nothing. There will always be murderers except without the second amendment the vict victim is has no defense. Even Jesus told the apostles to carry arms at the Last Supper. He asked : When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals ,did you lack anything?.”. The apostles answered “Nothing”. Jesus then continued : “But now, if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword , sell your cloak and buy one.” -Luke 22: 35-36 In taking away our arms Obama would leave us as infants surrounded by a gigantic pack of rabid wolves. As a Catholic I can confirm that even in the current Catechism of the Catholic Church the right and duty to use necessary force against aggressors is affirmed. “Legitimate defense can be not only a right but a grave duty for one who is responsible for the lives of others. “The defense of the common good requires that an unjust aggressor be rendered unable to cause harm.”-Catechism of the Catholic paragraphs 2263-65 (1997).John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, who disagreed on a multitude of issues, both saw that laws opposed to that laws opposed to armed self-defense only supported criminals. It’s very important to remember gun’s don’t die , people do. Even in the Bhagavad Gita Krishna apposes Arjuna’s pacifistic ideas because it’s was Arjunas duty to fight. One of our duties is to protect ourselves and our families. So why would you want your government apposing your duty.? Why would you not fight like Arjuna when Krishna convinced him to perform his prescribed duty.? Why would you not defend yourself against your attacker.? Would you remain still and do nothing when your family is in danger.? Would you defend yourself like David and the Israelites when Goliath and the Palestinians attacked.? If you were Krishna or Jesus or Mahavira or Buddha or Mohammed or Moses or Zoroaster would remain a silent spectator if your devotee or disciple was being harmed.? How would the elderly defend themselves without the second amendment.? It is when you question morality you see what is right. The 14’th Dalai Lama said “Acts of violence should be remembered and then forgiveness should be reached to the persons“. “But if someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, he said, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun.” “Not at the head where a fatal injury could result, but at a body part such as the leg.” People have been anticipating change from Obama for a very long time. Well they have received change. When Obama entered office he immediately signed five executive orders two of which I have listed. More change can be expected if Obama has already signed three executive orders within such a small time period. Those who asked Obama for change have received it but that change isn’t good at all. Overall Obama will bring change whether it be bad or good. Change is coming and always will come. As a tree sheds it’s leaves in the winter so shall the country. The citizens will be spectators to this. Change can come just like a wealthy village with successful crop may one day suffer the opposite. Criminals will always have weapons whether it be a gun or not the only difference without the second amendment the citizen’s with be unarmed. I don’t hate or disrespect Obama it is just my opinion and this is a free country founded on freedom of speech. There have been many presidents who have claimed they can make changes but have they followed through.?. Obama’s campaign slogan was change but the big question is there going to be change or is it going be the same political cycle. Paying taxes comes back to bite illegal immigrants http://www.magicvalley.com/articles/2009/05/30/ap/us/d98gmd6o0.txt By IVAN MORENO GREELEY, Colo. - Immigrant advocates say they've seen nothing like it before or since: A prosecutor looking for illegal immigrants seized thousands of confidential tax records from an income tax preparer popular with Hispanics in this northern Colorado city. The October seizures led to identity theft and criminal impersonation charges against more than 70 people, and prosecutors allege that as many as 1,300 suspected illegal immigrants were working using false or stolen Social Security numbers. But the American Civil Liberties Union said the documents of as many as 4,900 people were seized, many of them legal residents, and that the probe was the "equivalent of a house-by-house search of innocent homeowners in order to find a suspect believed to be somewhere in the neighborhood." Two judges have agreed, ruling that Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck had no probable cause to seize the records. Buck is appealing, however, and a ruling in his favor could open up a new avenue for prosecuting illegal immigrants. The charges have been ironic for immigrants like Horacio Arturo Cervantes. The 42-year-old father of four from the Mexican state of Chihuahua said he had been honest about paying taxes, even though he was in the country illegally, because he was hoping for a path to U.S. citizenship. Cervantes pleaded guilty to identity theft before the judges' rulings, and now faces deportation. He said he pleaded because he wanted to get out of jail and try his chances in immigration court. "I feel like I'm up in the air, not knowing what's going on, just with a desire to stay here," he said in an interview in Spanish. His next court date is June 23. Buck's investigation, dubbed Operation Numbers Game, marked the first time a prosecutor used tax records to charge illegal immigrants with identity theft, according to the ACLU and the Los Angeles-based National Immigration Law Center. Officials with both groups said they knew of no prosecutor who has tried it since. Buck's probe triggered a conundrum: The people charged allegedly are in the country illegally and were fraudulently using Social Security numbers. But the Internal Revenue Service requires them to pay taxes, and those records are confidential. Buck declined to be interviewed for this article because of pending appeals. But in a February interview, he argued that "if you're in this country illegally, and you're working in this country illegally, there may be a requirement that you pay taxes but it's kind of ridiculous." Buck has argued that the records aren't confidential because they were seized not from the IRS but from the tax preparer. The investigation started after a Texas man alerted Weld County authorities that his identity was being used. The suspect in that case told authorities he had filed his taxes with Amalia's Translation and Tax Services, a business widely used by immigrants in Greeley, where one-third of the population is Hispanic. To pay their taxes, Amalia Cerrillo's customers used Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers, which the IRS issues to people without Social Security numbers. Foreign nationals with U.S. investment income also use ITINs. Those charged in Operation Numbers Game allegedly used others' Social Security numbers to work and their own ITINs to pay taxes. IRS spokeswoman Nancy Mathis said ITINs solely track tax returns and don't convey or record immigration or work status. Nor do they give immigrants the right to work in the U.S. Buck had said more identity theft cases were possible, and that prosecutors in other states were interested in his investigation, but Larimer County District Judge James Hiatt halted it in April. Ruling in favor of the ACLU, he said investigators violated privacy rights by seizing the tax documents and that their search was over-broad. Hiatt likened the search to taking medical records from a doctor's office because one patient was a suspected drug user. In a separate but similar case in March, Weld County District Judge James Hartmann Jr., called the search warrant "nothing more than an exploratory search based upon suspicion that some unknown person or persons" committed a crime. Buck is appealing the rulings, and one of the appeals is before the state Supreme Court. While the cases he had pending were allowed to proceed, he has dismissed 30 of them without prejudice so far. The move gives him the option to file charges against the same people again if his appeals succeed. However, a Supreme Court ruling in early May could be another setback to Buck's investigation. Colin Powell stirred up the Republican Party's very public internal debate about the direction of the party and asserted it's losing because it doesn't appeal to moderates like him. The Republican Party is losing "men, woman, white, blacks and Hispanics," says Colin Powell. Two Republican leaders questioned Powell's GOP credentials. Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh said Powell should leave the party. Former Vice President Dick Cheney said he thought he already had. Powell says he's still very much a Republican and said the party would be better off to include more moderates like him. "The Republican Party is losing north, south, east, west; men, woman, white, blacks and Hispanics," Powell said in an interview with CBS' "Face the Nation." "I think the Republican Party has to take a hard look at itself and decide: What kind of party are we?" As it has squabbled within the family, the party has wandered. Most analysts say it will get back on the right track when its next leaders emerge. The Republicans' family argument started shortly after the Democrats won the White House and added to their control of Congress. Conservatives blame moderates for the losses, saying the party didn't present a contrast with Democrats and the only way for it to be successful is to lean harder to the right. Limbaugh and Cheney emerged from the leadership vacuum. Limbaugh from his legions of listeners and Cheney in his emergent role as the sole defender of the Bush White House. Powell provoked Limbaugh when he suggested the GOP's future was in peril if it went in the Limbaugh's direction. Limbaugh responded that Powell is part of the "stale, the old, the worn-out GOP that never won anything." Powell says the right has alienated undecided and independent voters and the only way for the GOP to return to power is to expand its narrow base. The former Pentagon commander of the 1991 Persian Gulf war has for the most part stayed out of politics since resigning as President's Bush's secretary of state in Bush's first term. Among Republicans, Powell, Cheney and Limbaugh are equally revered with favorability ratings in the 60s, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll. But among all voters questioned, Powell has a favorability rate of 70 percent compared to 30 percent for Limbaugh. A poll a week ago found that Cheney had a favorability rate of 37 percent. "Colin Powell is not the guy you want to pick a fight with," Schneider said. "He's more popular than Dick Cheney and Rush Limbaugh combined. Between the two polls, Limbaugh's unfavorable rating among all respondents was 53 percent and Cheney's 55 percent. Former Homeland Security secretary Tom Ridge, another moderate, sided with Powell. The former Pennsylvania governor said the different wings of the party need to listen to each other and differences of opinions need to be less divisive. "Rush Limbaugh has an audience of 20 million people. A lot of people listen daily to him and live by every word. But words mean things and how you use words is very important," Ridge said. "It does get the base all fired up and he's got a strong following," Ridge continued. "But personally, if he would listen to me and I doubt if he would, the notion is express yourself but let's respect others opinions and let's not be divisive." Ridge, who ruled out a Senate bid earlier this month, also called for an end to personal attacks. "Let's lead our party based on some principles that have been very much a part of who we are for decades. And let's be less shrill ... and particularly, let's not attack other individuals. Let's attack their ideas," said Ridge. . On another talk show, former George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove, who served with Powell and Cheney in the White House, took Limbaugh's side, saying he would choose the radio host over the former secretary of state if he "had to pick between the two," in an interview on "Fox News Sunday." this one is long but i need to know what my options are. my boyfriend and i were exiting a a very popular retail store after buying my daughter her valentines present (a my life size barbi). as we approached the doors outside this guy walks by and says p*ssy a** mother f*cker. my boyfriend turns and ask do i know you. the guy proceeds to walk up to me and my boyfriend and ask if we wanted to know him. a security officer is posted up not even 5 feet away and says nothing while they banter back andd forth. i asked the security gaurd is i could get a little help here and he just looks at me. i finally get my boyfriend to continue to leave and told the guy he needed to go inside and shop for whatever he intented to buy when he got here and leave us alone. as we are in the parking lot we hear "i'll f*cking cut you mother f*cker" we turn around and the guy not only followed us back out into the parking lot but he also had his hand in his pocket. i asked him "didnt i tell you to stay inside what the hell is your problem?" and he replies "i'll cut you too b*tch". i've had enough at this retail store. i flag him down and tell him look "this guy is harrassing us please get him away from us he's scaring me". so the security follows in his truck.and parks about a lane away from where my boyfriend and i have parked. (keep in mind this security officer NEVER steps out of his truck nor does he phone the police during the incidents i'm about to state.) he rolls his window down and the guy who's been harrassing us walks over to the truck and i'm not sure what he is saying but he keeps bantering us finally i get my boyfriend in his car(we drove seperate cars because i had just gotten off work at my second job and it was 10pm and i didnt want to go to the store alone, especially in my waitress outfit when anyone with sense knows i would probably have some cash on me.. therefore i got him to meet me up there, plus we were goin to hide my daughters barbi in his trunk until valentines day). he gets in his car and as i get in mine i notice this guy walking towards my car. (remember the security is STILL sitting in his truck) he puts his hand in his pocket, i check to see if my boyfriend had already left the parking lot and i see my boyfriend slam on his brakes, he gets out honks the horn(trying to get the attention away from me) and throws a red bull can at the guy who is still harrassing us. the guy then runs towards my boyfriends car, i back out of my parking spot and drive to where my boyfriend is. the guy tries to reach in my boyfriends window of his car with his KNIFE and my boyfriend takes off... the guy then throws the knife and ends up busting out my boyfriends back windshield of his brand new car with it. i'm freaking out at this point. i'm trying to find my phone and call the police(of course my purse is a suitcase!! so of course when i need it most i cant find it)... the guy starts taking his jacket off and wanting my boyfriend to fight him and my boyfriend tells him "sorry buddy whooping your *** isnt goin to fix my car's back windshield so i'll just call the police" the guy takes off down the sideroad.. my boyfriend drops the phone and ends up running over the guy cause when i see his head go down, i suppose to grab the phone, i see the boy walk into the front of his car.(remember that security officer??? yeah he's still in his truck, hasn't moved an inch). so my boyfriend keeps going.(yes i know a hit and run and this guy did press charges and wants my boyfriend to pay his medical bills now, it's been dropped to a felony.. leaving the scene of an accident with injuries... the guy seriously tried to get him for attempted vehicler homicide!!!!) anyways... 2 days later my picture is all over the news stating that i was in the vehicle that sent a man to the hospital when clearly i was driving my own car!!, wanna know who filed the police report .... the security officer in the parking lot!!! not only that ever since that night i have terrible anxiety when i am alone in parking lots or whenever it's just my child and i, and since have been put on xanax. so because of 2 security gaurds at this retail store just ignoring me and one of those morons stating i was in the same car with my boyfriend when he clearly saw me get into my own car, my face was all over the city news as well as our alabama state website!!!!! and in the paper. not to mention i had to explain to my 2 jobs why i was in the paper. and on top of it i feel so un-naturally unsafe in any parking lot i give myself panic attacks!! what are my rights??? and what can i do??? i'm still so upset about the situation and the parking lot panic attacks are really stating to affect my everyday life. i've never ever been in any kind of situation like that and i think about it all the time!! if anyone has any idea what i can do please tell me... thank you! moreResolved Question: Is there something wrong with my McAfee Site Advisor?

Why do people say waterboarding is torture? It seems to me that people just like to criticize the last Admin. I for one am a U.S. Marine. I have served over seas. I don't understand, if waterboarding is torture, then what should be done in the event that we have someone who is in custody that is witholding information that could save lives, you tell me what would work to get info out of people? Should be coerce them with bailout money, freedom and "70 virgins"? How many Americans have to be killed by terrorist attack before we allow security officials to waterboard, as a last result to finding the information needed to thwart attacks? What do you do for a living? Do you think me being a Marine could possibly come into your line of work and tell you how to do it better? I don't think you would like it if I got the whole media involved talking trash about how you do your job. There is SO MUCH more than what the media can fathom that goes on to save American lives, and that you all would persescute those who would lay down their life for you, because that is OUR job. WHY WOULD YOU JEOPORDIZE YOUR OWN SECURITY BY OUTLAWING by popular vote processes that have been developed, studied, tested, and PROVEN EFFECTIVE in gathering information from TERRORIST suspects. These guys are thoroughly trained to withstand interrogation methods, which is what WATERBOARDING IS. It is an interrogation method. People who talk about things that they do not understand need to step back and realize, there is alot you don't understand. Look at the President. He had several items of topic that he was ready to "CHANGE" when he was campaigning. DO YOU HONESTLY THINK HE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON BEFORE HE WAS BRIEFED ONCE HE WAS ELECTED? National security will not allow for any super power to tell the whole world what they know, because you want to keep the enemy guessing. When he got into his office, he found that he was not going to be able to simply withdraw like we would all like, but that he has a job to finish. This war is more complicated than people realize, but everyone would just rather point fingers and slander the Bush Admin, when infact, we need to unite as a country, buy things that are for sale, such as car, clothes, food, etc. so that our economy would be stimulated. That is the best thing we could do right now, is spend CASH in order to circulate some money. Instead of uniting to build a solid nation, we want to criticize, condemn and complain against one another. I wish my Chief Executive all of the luck, prayer and success the world has to offer. I think he is very bold and definately a great person for the job. I just pray that every American will step up, quit complaining, and start being part of the solution. IF anyone from FOX, CNN or MSNBC can read this, please take the time to think about it. Please consider my words, and realize I just want unity, peace and friendship among all PEOPLE. One World, One People. Many cultures, many places, but a place where we can compete in industry and work towards the future which is so uncertain. I myself have a deep love and belief that people can change, and that we really can get along. I've heard reports that the Burmese military is going to arrest Aung San Su Kyi and charge her with some security related crime related to that American chap who swam across the lake and got into her house secretly (on 2 occasions). Do you think they'll take this opportunity to get rid of her? By this, I mean murder her, or cause her to die in detention- since she's (by a landslide) the most popular people's choice for leader, a Nobel Prize winner, and basically the only thing getting in the way of total military domination of their ridiculous sham 'election' in 2010. I ask this question to draw attention to the ruthless nature of the military regime in Burma, where no defence is allowed, verdicts are decided before ' trial', long sentences are handed down for opposition to the military, torture is used against prisoners and medical care for those arrested is virtually non-existent. One of the few stories outlining the situation in any detail (If you have other sites let me know) http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/KE12Ak02.html ISLAMABAD - Following a barrage of American pressure, Pakistan abruptly abandoned all its existing plans to thwart insurgents and, in a televised speech by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, promptly declared all-out was against the Pakistani Taliban. But the essential question remains: will Pakistan win this American war against the Taliban? Neither Islamabad nor Washington has the answer, but both realize this will be a very long war. Even if the Taliban can be routed, the force and scope of the operation will undoubtedly pit different segments of society against each other. This is the exact situation that al-Qaeda has been waiting for. The military campaign is not universally popular in Islamabad, either. At a dinner held on Sunday at the elite Islamabad Club, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, the former chief of the fundamentalist party Jamaat-e-Islami, lambasted Pakistan's Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan over the operation, claiming that it looked like a war against the people of Swat, not against the militants. Qazi Hussain Ahmed demanded to know why the plan was not approved by the parliament and the cabinet. "Sir, have you seen the footages shown by some international TV channels about how a senior official of the administration was informing the Taliban to leave the places as the security forces are set to enter in Buner? Sir, we did discuss the issues in the closed-door sessions of parliament, but what can we do when our parliamentarians leak the information to the militants? Even a minister leaked very crucial information to the militants. Now, tell me what [other] option [was there] except unleashing the military operation secretly?" Taliban may simply flee from Swat, as they did in late 2007, and regroup in different places to exploit the chaotic situation. Gaining several thousands of new recruits should not be a problem, especially when they are lured by monthly stipends and other benefits. The Taliban can easily generate resources from robberies and ransoms. Within a few months, the Taliban will be able to raise new brigades of guerrillas. President Barack Obama asked Congress in his budget Thursday to end the State Alien Criminal Assistance Program. Instead, the $400 million it received for the 2009 fiscal year could be used for border security and immigration enforcement, the administration said. The SCAAP program reimburses states and counties for jailers' salaries for holding illegal immigrants who have at least one felony and two misdemeanor convictions. But the Obama administration says the reimbursements also can be used for bonuses, consultants and buying vehicles. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said killing the program "deprives communities of critical funding for public safety services." The California state corrections received more than $118 million in 2008 through the program. "We cannot afford to let our public safety services crumble under the weight of our immigration policies, especially during this time of economic uncertainty," Feinstein said. moreResolved Question: history help please answer!?
