Resolved Question: What would be a good name for these characters?

1)and old and mean man, lives alone, mr. ??????? 2)a very vibrant girl/teen who loves photography and feels a bit trapped and lost but wont let anyone see that side of her 3)another girl/teen, an average joe 4)name of a town  more

Voting Question: Give me your honest opnion about this guy is he a pervert?

Give me your honest opinion about this guy, is he weird or perv? Ok this Man Joe lives in your apartment building, hes 55 years old, he has two children both teens, his wife is about 50 and works as a nure. Joe is a retired EMS worker, he just retired two years ago, spends most of his days walking his dog in the park when you see him. In his spare time he does photography --no education or experience in it, never worked for a company.. He mentions that he takes photos of models.. You get the card for his website, you see he has taken half naked photos of girls in his apartment..You also notice he is on websites like Modelmahym looking to find female models to shoot. What is your opinion of this guy and would you have much to do with anymore? He also told you to tell your 22 yr old daughter to knock on his door to show her his work. his wife works as a nurse full time.. BTW, he offered to take photos of you,, you told him if hes serious about getting into photography he should show his work to agencies who will pay him well--HE LOOKS SCHOCKED!!!!!!!!!!1  more

Resolved Question: Does anyone on here actually SELL their photography?

The reason I ask is because I need to do a Photography assignment on a famous Photographer-- famous meaning not just my Uncle Joe who takes snapshots. Someone who simply makes a profit off of their passion is perfect. I have to do a Biography on this person-- and I'm hoping someone can help me by showing some of their work, and telling me about influences and whatnot. I just need someone I can get in contact with and ask specific questions. So, e-mail or MSN would really be ideal. This is really important-- due on Friday and worth 10% of my final grade (I'm in grade 11- it's a grade 12 course). Please-- I need help! Thanks in advance! Like I said-- I don't need someone famous. He said he actually prefers they be living and not someone too up there-- just someone who is professional, and I can preferably get in contact with. Thanks  more

Resolved Question: Why are people in this country more into sports than they are into the arts?

like music, photography, painting, dancing, film I mean there are many people in this country are into arts but your average joe is not. Ask someone would you rather read the living/arts page in the paper and they will always go for sports. Is sports considered more manly or american?? Does a man being into the arts automatically make you gay or something(i am straight) Are Americans less creative in a sense than those of europe?? I mean look at high schools. People pour all this money into sports and go ga-ga over the star quauterback and yet the art dept never gets as much money. In college you always see mr jock asshole get a scholarship for football or basketball but you rarely see someone go in for a film or music scholarship. Am i wrong here??  more

Resolved Question: What are some cool things I can do with my Dell Inspiron 1501 (Vista)?

Well, since I'm stuck with my Dell for at least the next 5 months until I get a Mac, what can I do with it? I really like photography and making movies out of my pictures, but Windows Movie Maker just isn't doing it for me! Are there any programs that are free where I can actually edit out parts of my movies and add songs from my iTunes library to it? Are there any cool features on Dell that are just random, fun, or interesting? Where in Los Angeles or online can I get a whole new keyboard for my broken key because some stupid guy at the computer store says I have to replace the keyboard on my laptop because he can't fix it! Any webcam suggestions? I have a Logitech Quickcam for desktops (even though I have a laptop) and I am very unsatisfied with it. It won't work with Skype, AIM, or Yahoo! Messenger. :-( Any quick and free ways to make it work faster or are there any fun hacks? My computer DOES NOT hold a charge. I was on Facebook in my room for about 15 minutes and it wasn't plugged in, and it shut down on me! Is it time for a new battery? Please, anything you know of that will help with any of these things, please do! Thanks!!!! ~Joe  more

Resolved Question: Where are companies that have a demand for nude male models for photography?

Resolved Question: What exactly is flash duration?

I'm trying to understand what photographers mean by "Flash Duration". Does it have to do with the duration of a single pulse of light from a flash unit, or does it refer to a flash unit emitting multiple pulses of flash over a period of time? The following is a quote from Joe McDonald's article on using TTL flashes in nature photography @ http://www.naturephotographers.net/articles0503/jm0503-1.html His definition of "flash pulse" isn't clear enough for me, thus my question. "[The] ability to stop action depends upon the unit’s flash duration, that is, the length of time the flash pulse is emitted. The shorter the flash duration, the ‘faster’ the flash, so to speak, and progressively faster actions can be stopped with shorter and shorter flash durations ... Conversely, longer flash durations act like slower shutter speeds, thus a ‘slow’ flash pulse may result in your capturing only a blur." It seems "flash duration" is synonymous with "flash pulse". So does flash duration have to do with the duration of a single pulse of light from a flash unit, or does it refer to a flash unit emitting multiple pulses of flash over a period of time? Thanks.  more

Resolved Question: How do I deal with my wifes new Job?

My wife just got a job in the career that she's always wanted. Photography. But, she'll be working for a adult womens magazine (something like playgirl) where she will be taking pictures of naked men. I don't have any trust issues with her, but am nervous about letting her take this job. I don't want to keep her from her dream, and we could use the extra money, but how long could she work this job before she realizes that she's just got an average joe at home and starts fooling around. My wife looks very good and I'm still amazed that she wanted to be with me (even after 8 years). How should I talk to her and voice my concerns without sounding like a jellous freek and without outright forbiding her to take this job.  more

Resolved Question: Guys what do you look for in a girl?

A guy posted this question for women to answer in singles and dating so I thought i'd ask the same Q's to guys and look at the differences, just out of curiosity. Guys what do you look for in a girl? rate 1 (not important)- 10 (importanton importance and what type confidence (cocky or self realized) looks (cute or tough) style (dress well or don't care) body (fit, average, or chubby) personality (funny or serious) attractiveness (joe schmo or hot) skills (clueless, handy, or don't care) abilities (music, art, photography, or don't care) social skills (introvert or extrovert) beliefs (high morals or low morals) spirituality (religious or atheist)  more

Resolved Question: Girls what do you look for in a guy?

rate 1- 10 on importance and what type confidence (cocky or self realized) looks (cute or tough) style (dress well or don't care) body (fit, average, or chubby) personality (funny or serious) attractiveness (joe schmo or hot) skills (clueless, handy, or don't care) abilities (music, art, photography, or don't care) social skills (introvert or extrovert) beliefs (high morals or low morals) spirituality (religious or atheist) I'm an average looking guy, i keep myself in pretty good shape and enjoy playing sports (like intramural). I dress well, I am self realized, and act serious (I have a dry sense of humor). I can play three instruments and am studying mechanical engineering and premed. I have very strong beliefs and have lots of faith. However, I can't even get a girls number and when i do manage too they never answer. What is going on? I have tried meeting every type of girl I could think of at every place I could think of. No girl wants to even be associated with me, except for some of my friends girlfriends who I am good friends with.  more

Resolved Question: photography / studio?

I am a 'experienced' photographer, the reason i say experienced and not 'pro' is because i've done photography for a while, but i don't consider my self been an expert. I want a new digital camera, and some equipment for a basic studio (small). Can anyone give any links, advice, etc. Many thanks, Joe. sorry, I don't really want to spent much over £500 (alltogether), but if theres something that WOW's me i may consider it. I currently have a 10megapixel Samsung digital camera.  more

Resolved Question: How can I get information that I have about unsatisfactory performance of Joe DiFeterici to brides in the area

Joe DiFeterici with Regal Photography in Sewell, NJ. Also known as being in Springfield, PA if you've found him through Pictage. He has an unsatisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau. Which can be found on their website. He has done a wedding for a friend of mine close to 2 years ago and has still not delivered the albums. He has been extremely hard for her to get a hold of and on numerous occasions failed to answer emails she sent and phone calls she made. She is prepared to take legal action on him. But I want to get this information out there so unsuspecting brides know what they are getting into. What is the best way to put this information on the internet so it will come up in a search? That way the bride will be sure to do her research on him before possibly getting into the same predicament!  more

Resolved Question: If you have a expensive camera you can call yourself a photographer!?

Ok, I am just getting into photography and I am learning more and going to be going to school for this, but I don't even like to or even consider myself a "photographer" I have noticed that alot of people just buy expensive cameras and take pictures and call themselves photographers and I don't know but ever since DSLR cameras came out, the average joe can call themselves "pro photographers" and charge people to take pictures. I know this is kinda ranting and all but, don't you agree? I mean I am ok at photography and I am saving up to get lighting and studio stuff and more equipment for later on work and to help me experiment before I get into schooling to become a photographer, but I don't bost that I'm a photographer. I am just a guy that likes to experiment and learn. I am not a photographer. Hahah, seriously. Just because you were blessed to have legs (or the money to get a camera) doesn't mean anything. It's the training and dedication you put in that makes you a world class runner or a photographer. It doens't just "happen" lol Technically you could call yourself a photographer, but... your still not. Your more of a hobbist in photography. I never said I was a photographer... I never said I was a photographer...  more

Resolved Question: Would you hire a sixteen year old to work in a portrait studio/wolf camera?

Be honest and explain why you would/wouldn't hire me! I've been around cameras since I was little, always experimenting with them! My photography teacher wrote me a very flattering recommendation to give to Wolf Camera and some portrait studios. It explained how I take pictures for year book, and that I've been in a beginning photography class and now an advance independent course. I have a Nikon d40x [I'm really happy with] and I'm always researching about photogrpahy! I hate being "only" sixteen because many places say that they'd like me to be eighteen...but I'd really like to get a headstart on ambitions. Is there anything you see as to why someone wouldn't hire me at sixteen? I do know more than the average joe about cameras/printing/photoshop...not A LOT, but more than average. my ambitions*** Oh along with year book, I've also had pictures in our school newspaper...but I'm not in newspaper. I'll probably be taking it next year though!  more

Resolved Question: wot do u think?

Relationships When a relationship ends, a woman will cry and pour her heart out to her girlfriends, and she will write a poem titled “All Men Are Idiots”. Then she will get on with her life. A man has a little more trouble letting go. Six months after the break-up, at 3:00 a.m. on a Saturday night, he will call and say, “I just wanted to let you know you ruined my life, and I’ll never forgive you, and I hate you, and you’re a total floozy. But I want you to know that there’s always a chance for us”. This is known as the “I Hate You / I Love You” drunken phone call, that 99% of all men have made at least once. There are community colleges that offer courses to help men get over this need; alas, these classes rarely prove effective. Maturity Women mature much faster than men. Most 17-year-old females can function as adults. Most 17-year-old males are still trading baseball cards and giving each other wedgies after gym class. This is why high school romances rarely work out. Handwriting To their credit, men do not decorate their penmanship. They just chicken- scratch. Women use scented, colored stationary and they dot their “i’s” with circles and hearts. Women use ridiculously large loops in their “p’s” and “g’s”. It is a royal pain to read a note from a woman. Even when she’s dumping you, she’ll put a smiley face at the end of the note. Bathrooms A man has six items in his bathroom - a toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of Dial soap, and a towel from the Holiday Inn. The average number of items in the typical woman’s bathroom is 437. A man would not be able to identify most of these items. Groceries A woman makes a list of things she needs and then goes to the store and buys these things. A man waits till the only items left in his fridge are half a lime and a beer. Then he goes grocery shopping. He buys everything that looks good. By the time a man reached the checkout counter, his cart is packed tighter that the Clampett’s car on Beverly Hillbillies. Of course, this will not stop him from going to the 10-items-or-less lane. Shoes When preparing for work, a woman will put on a Mondi wool suit, and then slip on Reebok sneakers. She will carry her dress shoes in a plastic bag. When a woman gets to work, she will put on her dress shoes. Five minutes later she will kick them off because her feet are under the desk. A man will wear the same pair of shoes all day. Leg Warmers A woman, even if she’s walking the dog or doing the dishes, is allowed to wear leg warmers. She can wear them any time she wants. A man can only wear leg warmers if he is auditioning for the “Gimme the Ball” number in “A Chorus Line.” Going Out When a man says he is ready to go out, it means he is ready to go out. When a woman says she is ready to go out, it means she will be ready to go out, as soon as she finds her earring, finishes putting on her makeup… Cats Women love cats. Men say they love cats, but when women aren’t looking, men kick cats. Offspring Ah!, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and soccer games and romances and best friends and favorite foods and secret fears and hopes and dreams. A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house. Dressing Up A woman will dress up to: go shopping, water the plants, empty the garbage, answer the phone, read a book, get the mail etc. A man will dress up for: weddings, funerals. Laundry Women do laundry every couple of days. A man will wear every article of clothing he owns, including his surgical pants that were hip about eight years ago, before he will do his laundry. When he is finally out of clothes, he will wear a dirty sweatshirt inside out and take his mountain of clothes to the laundromat. Men always expect to meet beautiful women at the laundromat. This is a myth perpetuated by re-runs of old episodes of “Love, American Style.” Socks Men wear sensible socks. They wear standard white sweatsocks. Women wear strange socks. Socks that are cut way below the ankles, that have pictures of clouds on them, that have a big fuzzy ball on the back. Nicknames If Gloria, Suzanne, Deborah and Michelle get together for lunch, they will call each other Gloria, Suzanne, Deborah and Michelle. But if Mike, Dave, Rob and Jack go out for a brewsky, they will affectionately refer to each other as Bullet-Head, Godzilla, Peanut-Brain and Useless. Eating Out … and when the check comes, Mike, Dave, Rob and Jack will each throw in $20 bills, even though it’s only for $22.50. None of them will have anything smaller, and none will actually admit they want change back. When the girls get their check, out come the pocket calculators. Mirrors Men are vain; they will always check themselves out in a mirror. Women are ridiculous; they will check out their reflections in any shiny surface: mirrors, spoons, car windows, store windows, toasters, Joe Garagiola’s head. The Telephone Men see the telephone as a communication tool. They use the telephone to send short messages to other people. A woman can visit her girlfriend for two weeks, and upon returning home, she will call the same friend and they will talk for three hours. Directions If a woman is out driving, and she finds herself in unfamiliar surroundings, she will stop at a gas station and ask for directions. Men consider this to be a sign of weakness. Men will never stop and ask for directions. Men will drive in a circle for hours, all the while saying things like, “Looks like I’ve found a new way to get there.” and, “I know I’m in the general neighborhood. I recognize that 7-11 store.” Admitting Mistakes Women will sometimes admit making a mistake. The last man who admitted he was wrong was General George Custer. Toys Little girls love to play with toys. Then when they reach the age of 11 or 12, they lose interest. Men never grow out of their obsession with toys. As they get older, their toys simply become more expensive and silly and impractical. Examples of men’s toys: little miniature TV’s. Car phones. Complicated juicers and blenders. Graphic equalizers. Small robots that serve cocktails on command. Video games. Anything that blinks, beeps, and requires at least 6 “D” batteries to operate. Plants A woman asks a man to water her plants while she is on vacation. The man waters the plants. The woman comes home five or six days later to an apartment full of dead plants. No one knows why this happens. Cameras Men take photography very seriously. They’ll shell out $4000 for state of the art equipment, and build dark rooms and take photography classes. Women purchase Kodak Instamatics. Of course women always end up taking better pictures. Jewelry Women look nice when they wear jewelry. A man can get away with wearing one ring and that’s it. Any more than that and he will look like a lounge singer.  more

Resolved Question: Where's a good place to sell my art in Kansas City, MO?

I produce photography work. Where is the best place to start selling my work. I want to sell it cheap and with no over head costs. I don't want to sell online. These are all one of a kinds prints. I think I need a market that can see past normal thinking. I had tried to sell my work in a gallery in St. Joe, but that was the worst market to start in, I had some connections. I think that KC has some open minded people who appreciate different types of art work. Goodwill is not a place to sell my art- that's a place to give it away!  more

I'm thinking of something more hands on than online.  more
