Open Question: SixFlags Great Adventure New Ride! 2010!?

Now that Kingda Ka is on it's way to closing for the whole summer, Six Flags Great Adventure saves alot of money on maintence, and I think that they should make a new ride in 2010 with these extra savings. However, they should also get rid of one ride to amke this. They ahve to get rid of Rolling Thunder. It is extremly old, and many people are getting whiplash from it's crikity, and unaccurate drops and turns. I think that they should either make A single-drop coaster( The tower in which people slowly ride up to thge top, and then plunge down- They don't have one of those) A new wooden roller coaster- perhaps a major upgrade? or... How about a go-kart track- that would be awesome for sixflags what are your thoughts? Or how about extending El Toro? Or how about extending El Toro?  more

Voting Question: How would I go about getting started in racing.?

I would like to eventually get started in rally car racing or something similar when I am older(only 17 years old now). I don't have any experience in actual racing but I've been driving dirtbikes/go karts/quads since I was 5, just haven't been racing. Any advice is appreciated, thanks for replies. I hear Kart racing is the way to get started but I can't seem to find much in my area in terms of races, all I found was the WKA and 2 sprint tracks that are a few hours drive from me me here in Philadelphia. Considering they are the only tracks I would be able to race at I'm hesitant to dump money into a kart and whatnot(I already have a comer 125 racing kart, but I don't think it fits into any wka racing classes and I don't know of any karting organizations other than wka.) I am also curious if autocross would be a viable way to get started. I'm driving a pickup truck with 240k miles on it so that isn't really an option but I am saving up to buy an sti in a couple years if it would help get me closer to racing.  more

on mario kart wii im stubbed on time trials and getting expert ghosts. i need to know how to beat time trials for expert ghosts because i dont have a single expert ghosts. do you have to do it on time trials or mario kart channel cuz i beat a ghost on mario kart channel by 10 seconds and i got nothing its hard and i need tips on how to do that cuz its difficult by 7 seconds. is there diff times for diff tracks plz help me wit time trials and ghosts  more

Resolved Question: I almost drowned in a lake because of this girl and she LEFT ME! What should I do?

There is this girl that I hate so much named Jane. Me and her are both 14 years old. Anyways, there was this BIG party last night at this place near the lake and there is also a go kart thing there and paint ball thingy and laser tag, its really fun. The girl who threw the party (Alicia) got the paintball arena, laser tag area, and go kart tracks RENTED FOR FREE! Then afterwards when they closed, we all bought our swim clothes and we went in the lake. It was like 9:30 and it was dark but my parents are on a business trip and after this my friend Ashley is getting her sister to pick us up and I am sleeping over. So Jane was being really rude with me and everyone was going in the lake. But I was just walking around on the rocks and then my boyfriend went into the lake but I was kinda scared because it was soooooo dark! Then my friend Ashley took out a few portable waterproof flashlights that she bought (cause she knew we would go in the lake) and she gave one to me. I clipped it into my top and went into the water. But then the light was just annoying me so I turned it off. We were having like swim races and stuff (lol!) and it was so fun! I was really tired and all of us were about 10 - 20 m out into the lake by now! I was swimming and then Jane (I got into an argument with her before) came and she purposely forced my head underwater. She thought it was a joke, but when she pushed my head down, I was exhaling so I was underwater and completley out of breathe. I even inhaled a bit of water from my nose and it hurt my throat (is that normal.) Then I like pushed Jane away and I opened my eyes in the water but I couldnt see anything cuase it was so dark. I grabbed Janes face and stuck my fingers in her eyes and she let go of me. I went to the surface and I was coughing like crazy and I couldnt open my eyes and I didnt know where I was I was soooo disoriented. I was gonna scream for help but then I started coughing up water. Then I opened my eyes and Jane grabbed my leg and as a joke, again, she was pulling me down underwater. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMFFFFFFFFFFFFFGGGGGGGGGGGG BITCH!!!!!!!! :# :@ :@ :@ I couldnt breath and I inhaled a bunch of water and I could feel her pull me down lower and lower and lower. Then I like kneed her in self defense and then I turned my water flash light on and let go of it and it went to the surface and I dont remember what............ I woke up and my boyfriend was doing CPR on me and I felt fine but I had a horrible headache and I felt like throwing up.. I went home today and I told my dad. Then my dad called a family friend who is Lindsay Valentine and me and her went to the police station and filed a 30 day restraining order against Jane. Now I can choose if I want to charge her or not. If I do, my lawyer said I can charge her for attempted murder (drowning) and also leaving me for dead and running away. Should I press charges. I dont wanna get involved with all the court stuff and my parents wont be there since the business trip ends at the end of next month and I am staying with my aunt and her boyfriend.  more

I've seen some people on their iPod (iTouch) and notice that they have somehow downloaded a page theme for their homescreen. Example: the background behind the icons was a Mario Kart theme with the castle and race track and some of the buttons were cars, Mario characters etc. etc. Does anybody know how to download themes for an iTouch?  more

Resolved Question: what rides should go in the following empty spaces at niversal studios florida and islands of adventure?

I took a look at the two maps and noticed that there is so much empty space at BOTH parks but they keep shutting down attractions like they have no space. At Universal Studios Florida, I found the following areas suitable for attractions Area 1: The area between E.T. and Terminator is, according to the map empty and suitable for a good attraction set in Hollywood. Maybe something with Hellboy? Area 2: If they shut down Fievel's Playland and rerouted Woody Woodpecker a bit, another good attraction could be put right next to the E.T. building. Maybe a Charlie Brown one like one of the attractions at the Japan park. Area 3: Once again, the Kidzone has another spot to put an attraction, between the Animal show and the Barneyshow. If they closed the Barney show, we could have a great dark ride attraction, perhaps based on Madagascar. Area 4: This one is huge. It the space between Simpsons and MIB. You could put two attractions here. Maybe Battlestar Galactica and Transformers could be pulled in? Area 5: JAWS has a bunh of space suuronding it. A small attraction could go here. Area 6: The area that's by Beetlejuice could fit a good attraction if Beetlejuice was closed. Area 7: This is the entire Blue Man Group building. Close it for something that the park can use, like a FATF indoor ride, that could be like Test Track and send you racing outside. Maybe some interactivity. I still have to do IOA but I'll shorten that by land. Marvel Super Hero Island: There's 2 areas here that could fit maybe an Iron Man mini-launched coaster and maybe a small Thor ride. Toon Lagoon: This one has three areas that could fit a Rocky and Bullwinkle dark ride by that theater place next to Spidey, a Beetle Bailey attraction and maybe a rockin' tug based on Hagrid the Horrible. Jurassic Park: Harry Potter took one of its spaces, but this land still has 4 HUGE spaces. This land is the least developed but is the biggest land. For here, they could shut down Pteranodon Flyers and then put a REAL coaster in themed to Pteranodons. Then, make an indoor Jeep ride like Indiana Jones, except themed to dinos. A kiddie ride themed to dinos could also be added. Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Here they could pretty much just add a flat ride or two. Lost Continent: Ah, here they now need a new crowd pleaser as no one is gonna pay a lot of cash so that they can see Poseidon's Fury. So take some of the lake and theme it to an indoor Minotaur coaster, It would b a wild mouse, so it would be family-orientaned. Seuss Landing: Here they got 4 spaces as well. Behind the Cat in the Hat, a Horton ride could be added. A Lorax dark ride could go in that huge space between Seuss and Lost Continent. A Grinch coaster like the Matterhorn could go by the lake portion of Seuss. Finally, THE LAKE!!! Did you notice that IOA never uses the lake. Sure, they used to, but now nothing's going on. So, they can put in a.... NINTENDO WORLD Here we would have a state of the art Mario dark ride that is thrilling. Maybe you could ride on a mine cart through the sewers up to Bowser's castle. Also, a Legend of Zelda mostly indoors water coaster would be added. A Pokemon play area, Yoshi go-karts, a Donkey Kong indoor show, and Kirby balloon race would also be here. Tell me what you think and your ideas.  more

I usually get 1st place but not in Worldwide. Anyways, I have unlocked Birdo, this Booper Gloober thingy cart, and the last course I remember I unlocked was the lightning cup. I did the whole lightning cup and got 1st place in all those races, but I got a trophy but I didn't unlock a new course. What happend? Rainbow Road is my favorite track and I want it really badly.  more

after all the hype about this game i went out and bought it. thinking it must be good. it seems i was wrong for many reasons. 1. it's so easy to win any race. there is no challenge to it atall. you can count on a win everytime, even with the hard setting. 2. whats the aim? there is no karts or anything to unlock. 3. what about the grand prix? iv won this many times over. ok i get a trophy, but then what? its done, all completed. so basically my question is what is the point? i was expecting unlockable karts and tracks etc, something to aim for, like working your way up a league table etc. maybe im expecting too much but this game seems dull. why race for nothing? i have the 150 cc karts, all characters etc but as far as i know i havent actually unlocked these. they was all there waiting. it was a used game but i cleared all the data before i set out. maybe iv just come to the end of the road with this game. iv done all the missions etc. it's better on mulitplayer but i still feel there is no aim to it. maybe im just more suited to challenging games rather than fun ones. lol. thanks for your input everyone  more

Resolved Question: I want to start racing. Where should I begin?

Hey guys. It's been a long journey with trying to decide whether to sell my daily driver Integra for something that carves corners a lot better ( many of my friends has something that totally shocks me in terms of how many G's it can handle ) In short, I want to be able to compete in track racing. However, I have the severe disadvantage of not being able to store anything in my garage overnight. My parents are out for the whole day, but they come back during nighttime and throw out whatever junk I have inside the garage at that point. I've looked at Datsun 240Zs, Mazda Miatas, Pontiac Fieros, Locosts, and most recently La Balas. However yesterday I was going through Yahoo! Answers in the sports/driving section, and many of the questions were "How do I start racing?" One of them said that Schumacher ( I probably spelled that wrong ) would practice on a go-kart during his off season. I have no idea how driving a go-kart would let you improve your driving skills when a race-tuned vehicle and go-kart handle very differently. Still, it's something to consider. Now I was initially going to make a kit car in an attempt to make a homemade street legal car, but there is the problem with theft, no roof, and no space to work on it. At least with a go-kart I could fit it through a door. I have a MIG welder, but I need a gas cylinder ( which kind should I get? ) In any case, I think the ultimate question is how to keep a go-kart and get it to the race track when you don't have something to haul it with? My mom has the VW Touareg, but no way in hell will she let me drive it. I believe the only way is to make it street legal, but I already see a lot of complications in that. California, being the strictest state in terms of vehicles, is probably not going to let me drive a go-kart around my neighborhood. Maybe someone will prove me wrong... I live in the south side of the Bay Area of California. The closest track I know is Malibu Grand Prix in Redwood City, and I don't even think you can bring your own go-kart there anyway.  more

I am wanting to build a petrol kart for cheap, i went to a kart track and fell in love with them, i do not know where to start, i would like one for cheap but the ones on ebay are like 1.5k im looking for one maybe to build up etc... should i start from scratch or maybe buy one for under £350 and build it up into a race beater. Voting Question: Have a question. need some advice pls?

this might be a little long but i really need someone elses opnions. i already asked my parents and they told me to do whats best for me. so last night my fiance who makes 30,000 a year on salary for 6 months and recently this year he gets demoted to 9.00 p/hr . so he goes from manager to delivery driver at an entertainment park/ resturaunt. he works about 60hrs per week on salery. well this past year we recently had a baby boy. he is 9 months now. he came home upset. he isnt happy with his job and i absolutly hate that. i know many people hate there jobs and thats life and you deal with that. but they litteraly use him and drop him when they are done or cant afford him. he told me that he wanted us to sell the house we bought a year ago and move in with his mom. so we can go to school full time. wether it be online or actuall classes. and he would automatically be demoted to just a go kart atendent. Im a full time mom because its hard to get anyone to babysitt for long hours. its hard right now in the economy. everyone could use more money. but he wants me to still not work but go to school while he works 30-40 hours a week and go to school full time. im all for making him happy and providing a better future for our family. but is it worth selling the house? he put 10,000 dollars down and his father put the other half to get this house. its reasonable payment and it was def a tough winter this past year but what can you do right? go with the flow? I honestly dont want to move again. that means that my son will go crazy. he hates new enviorments in general right now. we house sat for his mom while she was on vaca and it set him off and a month later he is still trying to get back on track. i love my indepence. i love having my own place. i dont want to move again, its a hassel. lol but i do want to make him happy. but what happens if he goes to school and then after its all said and done he doesnt find a good job? what happens? 20 grand down the drain dew to a glimmer into what the future could be. he wants to go into something business and i just dont see that being good. he is in one now and its having a hard time making it during winter season. i know this is alot to read and thank you for taking the time to read it. please any advice, ideas, anything please help. were also getting married this november:) so as you see i have alot on my plate. thanks!  more

I am playing Mario Karts on the Wii. I have read that If I get at least a 1-star rating on all the 50cc Retro Grand Prix's I should unlock the Cheep-Charger Kart (or as some call it the "Cheep-Cheep").
