What's the chance that I will be one of the tallest guys at my college?
I'm hoping that I literally stand out amongst the crowd when going to my first year of college. I feel quite tall at times so I'm hoping this will be true at college as well. I'm going to Colorado University in Boulder, CO in the fall. Are the people at college campuses usually around my height? I'm hoping for the best! Thanks! moreResolved Question: Whitewater rafting and Hiking in Boulder Co.?
Planning a trip to Boulder Co over the fourth of July and would really like to hear some feed back on places to hike with great veiw and places to go Whitewater rafting. Any help would be great! Thank YOU! moreResolved Question: Does my book sound good, does it sound like Twilight?
I am currently writing down the plan for a book which I hope will eventually turn into a very popular series of books. It's a long shot, but it is worth a shot and how good does writing a series of ten novels on a college application? Anyway, I've only read the first few chapters of Twilight before I realized the book was retarded and threw it into the fireplace so i don't really know much about the book. So I am hoping you fellows can help me with this. At first I was thinking of using some gothic angels or something like that but after a good month of researching, planning, and thinking I changed it to vampires. Does this book sound much like Twilight, or any other book? All help is appreciated. But first, I don't know which town to make my story based in Denver or Boulder, CO. Anyway, the story goes like this: Two teenage fraternal twins Robert and Susan McKartter, originally named Sterling, where adopted a few years back from an orphanage by now single father, Manny McKartter, who has had many girlfriends and never one single wife. Once they come out of the orphanage and move in with their new father, Susan says goodbye to her friends and Robert says goodbye to no one else but the cook who had taught him many things about cooking was the only friend he had. A year later, Robert and Susan go to a new middle school. Susan had become much more diffrent than last year and was know Goth, Robert not changing much but like his sister was maturing at his own pace. As they make their way through a new school, Susan instantly makes new and "improved" friends while Robert strugglres with bullies. Robert struggles through the hallways caring books for class when he runs into another student, a female one that is. They quickly forgive each other and pick up their books and walk on as quickly as possible, Robert only getting a quick glimpse of her blonde hair and blue-green eyes and a feeling Robert is not at all similiar with... Susan begins to show off her athletic skill by joining the track team and Robert begins to try to find out the name of the girl who he had bumped into, Susan starts to go through a strange change... As she goes to bed after four hours of staying there she realizes she can't sleep, and all the suden she starts to feel cold and dizzily light and runs to the bathroom sink. When she gets there she throws up blood and Susan just stand there feeling even more dizzy and falls to her feet looking at her hands full of blood. She gets up on her feet and looks at the mirror and tries to inspects the inside of her mouth for a cut of some kind but suddenly notices her skin all over, all as pale as paper. She starts to freak out and lets out a loud yell which later turned into a bat's shriek, she had no idea what was going on, she didn't even feel liek herself any more. She ran outside to the front porch, feeling like something was telling her what to do and she had no control what so ever over herself besides to think "What the hell is wrong with me?!". She sees a guy walking down the sidewalk, looking straight into Susan's eyes which seemed where always a gray-blue where now a shining red, the same color as the guy's. The guy approached her slowly, and all the sudden everything seemed to go black but Susan felt her legs running, like instinct was telling her to do something... Susan later felt herself sleeping, her eyes closed feeling like she had been sleeping in her bed all night, feeling like she had theworst nightmare ever, like she just had gone through shock. She opened her eyes, moaning, feeling tired, she looked at her arms, they weren't as pale as paper like they where in her nightmare, but this was even worse. She saw she was in some field under a tree, the grass long and green and covered in dew, and it onely got worse... She was naked. She had no idea why, but she saw her clothes scattered all over the field, cowss every where looking at her funny and seeing a calf looking very skinny and malnurished, like something just sucked all the liquid out of it, right next to the spot she was sleeping in. She took a cab back home, dressed that is, and no longer felt tired at all. Susan got scared when she saw Robert watching TV in the living room. He told her he couldn't sleep, some lousy bat was shrieking and after that he just couldn't sleep. later, after breakfast, the both went back to school and Robert found out the name of his mystery girl, which I have not come up with any suggestions would be great. The fallowing night Robert had a nightmare himself, some crazy guy chasing his mystery girl yelling at her to "Come back, I can explain!" but at the end the guy pinned her down to a boulder and then a thunderstorm occured and after that he didn't remembeer anything at all,and for the next few nights the same thing happened to her over and over again, except she was dressed know and she know longer threw up blood but her top canines seemed to get slowly longer, and they seemed be going from bl WARNING: Copying my plan will be copywriting. moreResolved Question: Where should I get my hair straightened?
I live in Boulder, CO and was thinking of getting the japanese hair straightening or the brazilian keratin treatment on my hair. Are there any salons near boulder or in that have these treatments? And if possible, for a cheap price? Boulder is an hour away from Denver and 4 hours away from Aspen. Also I'll be going on a quick trip to San Diego, CA, so if there is a salon there that works as well moreResolved Question: I'm scared to tell anyone...?
Ever since I was 10, I knew I was different. I'm gay/bi and I can't tell anyone. My parents are from the south, where "men" kill things, and play sports, and are in the simplest term, "manly". They are also Apostolic/Pentecostal, a religioon where homosexuality is a sin that will condemn you to hell. They don't agree with my being a vegetarian either, and that was hard to tell them, so you can see my fear in trying to cope with being homosexual. Also, like the rest of my family, they have completly disowned my cousin for being gay, and he was kicked out of his home, and it was a big mess. People assume that I'm gay all the time, but I play it off because of my fear to tell anyone. My religion also makes me feel uncomfortable because of the way they feel about homosexuality. Sometimes I feel like there is something wrong with me, and that I'm condemned no matter what unless I start liking girls. I have two best friends, the most amazing friends ever, and I'm sure they may suspect, but again, I say that I'm metro, and they leave me alone. This random assorment of words and sentences probably doesnt make sense, but I thought you may like some background info to help me. I just don't want them to treat me the way that they treat my cousin. After 5 years, he is just now coming back around, and they are starting to ignore the fact. I'm just so scared, because I know that being gay is a hard lifestyle, but homosexuality is starting to be more recognized. I know that I keep rambling, but I'm just trying to give my views on it all, and how it may affect me, and my family. If you could give me some advice, or anything I would appreciate it. Also, I have one year left of highschool, then im moving to Boulder, CO. I live in Louisiana now. Please.. just try and help me. My uncle was also gay, and I have 1 gay cousin, and 1 bi cousin. Is homosexuality genetic? moreResolved Question: Is this some interesting information?

I was a student at CU 20 years ago and did a little bit of climbing in the area. My 17 yr old daughter is now an avid climber and I would like to take her climbing in my old college town. I remember there was some bouldering and top rope route on and near the flatirons, but don't really know specifically where to go. We are looking for some bouldering or bolted routes (she doesn't have much trad experience). Is there a good website or book someone can recommend that would give us some specific suggestions or guidance. I am looking for a specific resource, either a website or book. For example, the books "Austin Rock" and "Mexico Rock" detail, including maps and directions, all of the routes in those areas. I am looking for something similar for Colorado/Boulder. moreResolved Question: Moving to Boulder, CO?
My fiance and I are planning on moving to Boulder. Even though we cant afford a really nice apartment, I would like to know that I will be moving to a safe part of town. Any suggestions? We prefer an apartment that is not in the middle of a heavy traffic area, but not too far from a wal-mart etc. I would not like to spend more than 700/month on rent. One bedroom is fine, but prefer 2. moreResolved Question: Is Boulder, CO a good place to live?
I am in my 20s and was wondering if this city is fun for someone like me. Safe too? moreResolved Question: Anybody have any advice for me on this one?
Ok, so here's my situation. I am 27, male, never married, no kids, and was stupid enough to join the Marine Corps right out of high school. I got out at age 23, got a job in Colorado Springs, CO, got laid off, and proceeded to go back to school here at the local community college. I am wondering if either Colorado State University or CU-Boulder might be a good fit for me. One thing is for certain and that is that I absolutely HATE the city of Colorado Springs with a passion! There is absolutely NOTHING here for a single guy like myself. I would like to live in a laid back town that has some single women, has a somewhat decent nightlife (unlike this place), and be able to date like an average straight guy (yep, just like here in the Springs, there weren't any single women in Jacksonville, N.C. / Camp Lejeune), and get my education. Does anyone know or have any information and / or first hand knowledge on these two towns (Ft Collins and Boulder) respectively? BTW, I am a registered independent so Boulder's political scene will not be an issue for me. moreResolved Question: Baby Name Game with pictures!?

The World Naked Bike Ride is today for the northern hemisphere. It is a protest against overuse of co2 emitting vehicles. Here' my beef. I read some article that stated Boulder, CO police would arrest nude participants, and they would have to register as sex offenders if convicted. Here's my beef. Even if you disagree with nude protests, and you think the law should penalize them, why not have the penalty be a fine? Doesn't this sort of thing undermine the integrity of the sex offender registry? People will be able to say "sure, that guy's a sex offender, but maybe he really didn't do anything wrong." I'd like to be able to know that the registry is reserved for REAL perverted criminals. BTW, I personally think the nude bike ride should be protected speech. Buddy. The nudity is obviously a tactic to get attention. You are simply wrong. The protesters are NOT pervs just for being nude. It's your attitude that causes body shame for so many young people. Speech is anything that has a message as content, including dress. moreResolved Question: better place to live Boulder or Denver, CO?

I'm 18 years old and i just graduated from high school. During my high school career i secured an above average GPA and pretty good test scores and was quickly accepted into my dream school.. The University of Colorado @ Boulder... sounds fantastic right?? Nope. Because my parents make decent money, just over 100,000 dollars, and despite my efforts, i was unable to obtain any scholarships, -merit and definitely not need based- ...........which seems totally fair.........poorer families should get more money to help put their kids through college while the more priveleged can simply finance it themselves........ its a flawless system right? Nope. not for me:( My parents, just a few days ago, revelead something devastating. Clearly following in the steps of previous generations in my culture, and continuing the destructive cycle of taking education as a non- priority, they decided they're not assisting me in paying for college. Which at first seemed fine. i thought... well... my parents make decent money.. however..they have plenty of expenses and i don't want to burden them..... i'll just take out a loan and pay for school when i graduate:) Nope. They have also refused to take any part in any loans of any sort, not as parents, signers or even co-signers. They dont' want any debt, and as a result have suggested i forget about my college plans. Nope. i refuse to give up on my education,..so now i have two jobs,.. but its still not enough -and thus, after my eternal rant- are asking for advice..... is it possible to take out a loan just by myself?? one that i can pay for after i graduate?? *sorry my question got intensely long.. it could have been short and sweet... but ranting helped lol.. maybe i should get a Journal;)* Thanks for the help. unfortunately, i cant "dance" my way through college because i'm a dude.. who wants to see that really? lol ,.. work study programs are given to students that can demonstrate significant financial need... which i really cannot prove considering my situation..and i just found out i cannot join the armed forces,.. :( i'm colorblind and have asthma, (not lookin to optimistic...) and to make it all worse.. a cannot ask family members for a co sign,.. because they can hardly afford food in mexico.. and asking my parents (begging) is what i've been doing for weeks... not quite working :(........... honestly.... with all this against me... do you think i'll find a way to overcome?? moreResolved Question: What is the best place in Boulder, CO for buying wheat grass shots?

Hi Everyone, I just have a really quick question. Is Denver, Colorado really overrun by single men like I have heard everyone say it is? I moved to Colorado Springs, CO for a job after I got out of the Marines and there is literally NOTHING here in terms of available single women. In other words, normal dating does not happen here and I am not the only single guy who has said that! Is Denver the same way? I am currently attending community college here and was considering transferring to either Boulder or Ft Collins, but I would like to be somewhere that has at least a 50-50 ratio of single women to men. As beautiful as it is geologically, I will not stay in this state if it means staying single for the next three years! If anyone reading this currently lives in Colorado and has lived in a state where there is more dating potential then please let me know. Thanks moreVoting Question: Ladies, (20s age range only please) how do I fix myself in this regard??
I am 27, male, straight, and have never EVER dated a girl in my entire life. I had severe self-esteem issues growing up due to my physically and verbally abusive father. Upon graduating from high school, (college not even being a remote possibility for me due to lack of "family" support) I joined the Marine Corps. The Marine Corps did help me somewhat to "come out of my shell". But, they put me in a lace (easterm North Carolina, specifically Jacksonville) where the local women hated Marines due to the stereotype that ALL Marines cause trouble, which wasn't the case with me at all. So, I wasn't afforded the opportunity to meet single women while in the Marines from 18 to 23 due to this. After I got out of the Marines, I got a job in Colorado Springs, CO, got laid off, and started school here. Unfortunately, most people are married here too due to the Air Force Academy and the Army post here. So here I am 27 with no experience whatsoever. Quite frankly, as a man, this is EXTREMELY embarrassing for me, as I am truly afraid any woman would run from me if I were to tell her what I have just revealed to you guys on here. I take classes at the local community college here and plan to transfer out of here ASAP. What college do you guys suggest that I transfer to in order to be in an environment that is conducive to meeting single women????? I have thought about moving to Boulder or Ft Collins, CO, but I'm afraid that I'll be viewed as "too old" at 27 by the younger gals in their early 20s. Do you think they have a moral compass that tells them right from wrong? London, May 24 (ANI): It's not just humans who have a moral compass, animals too possess a sense of morality which allows them to tell the difference between right and wrong. That's the conclusion of a new book. Boffins who study animal behaviour reckon they have evidence to prove that species ranging from mice to primates are governed by moral codes of conduct in the same way as humans, The Telegraph reported. However, Prof Marc Bekoff, an ecologist at University of Colorado, Boulder, believes that morals are "hard-wired" into the brains of all mammals and provide the "social glue" that allow often aggressive and competitive animals to live together in groups. Bekoff reached the conclusion after compiling evidence from around the world that shows how different species of animals appear to have an innate sense of fairness, display empathy and help other animals that are in distress. Prof Bekoff, who presents his case in a new book Wild Justice, said: "The belief that humans have morality and animals don't is a long-standing assumption, but there is a growing amount of evidence that is showing us that this simply cannot be the case."Just as in humans, the moral nuances of a particular culture or group will be different from another, but they are certainly there. Moral codes are species specific, so they can be difficult to compare with each other or with humans." He claims that these rules help to control fighting within the group and encourage co-operative behaviour. Prof Bekoff, who co-wrote the book with moral philosopher Jessica Pierce, also from the University of Colorado, added: "There are cases of dolphins helping humans to escape from sharks and elephants that have helped antelope escape from enclosures. While it is difficult to know for certain that there is cross species empathy, it is hard to argue against it." (ANI) Edit: Bear, laws & norms are man made...but that deep seated sense of right & wrong was not created by man. You don't need to teach it to children...a 3year old knows clearly that hurting someone is wrong, bad behaviour.. Edit: Thanks Theth! i found it lovely too! x Edit: Bear...How many babies do you know?!! when i put 2 babies together, they tickle each other, laugh & pat each other's faces...if they fight, its just for fun..not about survival at all. Alright, so to preface this, I am 15, and a sophmore at a high school in Boulder, CO Now, I've been at a state Latin convention for the last two days, and I figured I maybe could try to pick up chicks from other schools (I'm known as an "antisocial butterfly" in some circles and I thought it would be good practice talking to people). So, during the assembly when they introduced all the schools, I made note of a very cute girl, and I decided to ask her to the dance that night. Well, she was REALLY adorable, and when she introduced her school, she held their sign upside down and didn't notice till her friend grabbed it and turned it right side up and it was soooo cute! So, I didn't manage to ask her in person, but I made sure she noticed that I was checking her out, and then I asked her friend whether the girl I liked would be at the dance and they said yes. So at the dance, there was some really good dance music, unlike most school dances I've been to, and I was dancing really well, and I saw her and her friends off to the side, but I didn't want to be too imposing, so I kept a little distance. Then her friends started trying to get her to come over to where I was, and it was so cute how shy and flustered she got (additionally, it was very helpful, because I'm naturally incredibly shy as well, but I made sure to engage in a decent conversation, which was wonderful, because I didn't want to waste her friends' efforts. so anyway, eventually her friends got her over, and we talked and got to know each other a little bit, and he friends stayed so that she would still be comfortable (I really want to thank them for being so helpful, I think they wanted her to talk to me as much as I wanted to talk to her). So anyway, we talked, I found out she was in the catapult contest the next day, etc. and then we all went to bed. So, the next day, I go and watch her catapult (it wasn't powerful, but it was pretty, and then at the final assembly, I gave her my number and asked her to call me. Now, everything was all well and good, her friends were nice, everything seemed set up for a perfect match, although she does live in Denver, but I figured that wouldn't be TOO much of a problem. Then, after she had left the convention, I found out that she was still in middle school. I seriously think that she may be my soulmate we're so similar and she's in goddamn middle school. Anyway, just shows ya how much my life sucks, but whatever. Anyways, I really am asking this question for two reasons: a) what are the chances she's going to call me, and b) what kind of chances do I have with her, in all honesty, should I try to make something of this if she does call, or is it a bad idea to be dating a middle schooler if I'm a sophmore, she's intelligent and mature enough, but would people look on it as a bad thing. I know that was a little long, but I really need help, thank you so much! moreResolved Question: Which mountain bike should I get?

(10/23/65 & 3/7/68)?
I have avoided this man now for a VERY long time because the air is so electrically charged when we were near each other (both with someone else at the time) We are now back in communication and we both are bordering on obsession but there is also definite hints at soulful synchronicity. Is this hot fling a temporary thing or does it have lasting potentional? It's really hard to find stuff on the Lib/Scorp cusp. I'm pretty much true Pisces with very little or any deviation from any profile I've ever seen. Oh, he was born in Phoenix AZ and I was born in Boulder, CO. Thoughts anyone? Thanks so much for answering my question. I totally messed this one up - tee hee...His DOB is actually 10/22/65 and in Jacksonville FL (AFB there) 10:35am EST. Mine is 3/7/68 4:38pm MST Boulder, CO. (Yah, I'm a LOVE child - born just nine months after the Summer of Love) Do the times/locations really make a huge difference? Maybe "obsession" is a bit strong of a word-certainly not Glenn close pulling the lamp string (either of us!) but we just seem to "click" and conversations have been very open and moving on multiple levels. Have almost exclusively been with Cappies (One of whom was his best friend & my fiance) so maybe it's just the combination of his being so different & the death of a commoon loved one. Ok, I am a Junior in high school living in Boulder, CO. I'm looking for new places to go to college, but CU is appealing to me more and more. I really want to find a good, sizable college, far away, where i can party and SKI. I checked out Canada, UBC and University of Alberta, but they are out of my price range to be an international student. (But damn the drinking age is 18!!! so im missing out on that) then i looked at University of Utah, and went to salt lake to check out the skiing, which is AWESOME. But the campus was totally dead and it didn't seem like anyone would be down for a kegger. I checked out bozeman montana. but it's known as BROzeman MANtana, due to the unfortunate guy to girl ratio. CU is looking looking better and better. On the plus, my parents are moving to fort colling (about an hour away) right after i graduate. they already bought a house and are set to go, so i won't ever see them if i don't want to. but i don't know if i will feel trapped in my hometown. i want the adventure of learning a new city and being totally lost for a while, but my other options seem kinda bunk. it's like CU is a perfect school for me (big, party school, close to skiing, good education) i just wish i didn't live here already. help me with some OPTIONS... Oh ya, my brother is already in fort collins at CSU, and my parents are moving there, so I already know the town about as well as boulder. +mom, dad, and brother would be there too. big minus for CSU moreBoulder Co Search Results
